That "fake taxi" pays PSV worth 640k a year. Pays 180k park user fees every quarter, pays third party insurance which is rarely used.
Employees a driver. Employes a conductor, a mechanic, spare parts dealer, and while providing cheaper means for poor Ugandans.
If it was about comfort, don't you see many special hire vehicles parked on stages. With no Ugandan using them. Aren't they in better shape?
This low brain narrative that accidents are caused because a certain taxi has shaky seats is shallow and only designed for propaganda.
How many of those so called dilapidated taxis cause accidents statistically???
On average, a taxi plying Kampala nansana or Kampala kireka Banda or Kampala nabweru katooke or Kampala nakawuka will rarely exceed 70km per hour. Its old and thus doesn't run terrible speeds. The roads are riddled with potholes and because it's town service, the traffic is higher.
Cars that actually cause accidents are new drones plying longer routes like Kampala nakasongola, bushenyi, tirinyi and so forth. Those exceed 120km/hr.
Stop being naive and objectively address issues.
Yes some taxis are not in good shape.
But if I may ask, how do you treat your 90year old grandma who can neither control her urine, poop or even saliva. Do you just strangle her to death. Or you get her adult diapers, and a caregiver to help maintain her hygiene.
Have a robust reformatory system. Lower taxes on spare parts like tyres, lights, suspensions etc. Subsidize fuel costs while at the same time Improving government based transportation like rail and water.
Then you'll have the audacity to hold operators accountable.
Not by paying influencers to peddle the stupid idea that an old taxi that barely runs at 70 km/hr causes accidents and should therefore be taken off the roads.
Puta!!!!
@amgodiva I think you work for the Imperialists
"Who would need to go their countries when we have The State of The Art International Specialized Hospital in Lubowa?"
@genoeric1 I leaent from someone, that internal security is something hard to enforce
Morr os, if you have extreme poverty and mental health challenges, crime is almost hard to curb
@TonyNatif Anthony, should Uganda adopt the USA system where a law degree isn't one's first degree?.
I believe it could somehow bridge the gap in such takes.
