@kingofqueensla1 @_celia_bedelia_ 🙋🏻‍♀️ me—hit puberty at 11-12 and was a women’s size 4-6 / shoe size 8 by 7th grade. All the other girls were still stick thin so my first foray into disordered eating was 8th grade. At 5’4” and 125 lbs, playing soccer year round, I thought I was a cow whom no boy would ever like.

@jenni_tabler I never found it gross (but plenty of other things in pregnancy… yes) but it’s a *very* odd sensation, and I’m quick to tell any of my friends who haven’t been pregnant before when they talk about how they’re doing. It’ll get even weirder once you can SEE and feel it.

@MattMetcalf And some Christians feel like nothing they’ve done has gotten us closer to ending this violence and they don’t have the option to homeschool so they try to be obedient when the Bible says to not be anxious about anything but they’re terrified for their babies in public school.

The man who leads the Senate in prayer is fed up with thoughts and prayers.

Today, Senate Chaplain Barry Black's gave an honest and bold rebuke of the common empty sentiment in his opening prayer:

"Lord, when babies die at a church school, it is time for us to move beyond thoughts and prayers. Remind our lawmakers of the words of ... Edmund Burke: 'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.'"

Chaplain Black’s words were so necessary.

We need action. Thank you Chaplain Black for having the courage to speak out. 💙
