"Thus, this is now the Putin/Orbán/Trump formula:
— Manufacture a crisis.
— Declare an “emergency.”
— Seize powers the Constitution doesn’t grant.
— Bypass Congress.
— Bully or ignore the courts.
— Use masked, secret police and the military against your own residents.
— Send people to foreign concentration camps.
— Build concentration camps within the United States.
— Prosecute lawyers and judges.
— Assert control over universities.
— Merge corporate and state interests.
— Cow the media into silence about your corruption and crimes.
— Then call it all “law and order.”"
Another great article by @Thom_Hartmann.
This hero is derailing Trump's juggernaut https://t.co/VNSltDnKoj
The President of the United States is asleep at his desk. Again.
Behind him stand seven grown adults in expensive suits, and not one of them is doing anything about it. One is mid-sentence. Another is gazing sideways with the haunted look of a man whose pension depends on never acknowledging what he can see in his peripheral vision.
The rest of the world is watching, and the rest of the world has noticed something. Americans are terrified of authority. That fear has settled over this administration like a fog, and it turns otherwise functional adults into warm furniture. Nobody moves. Nobody speaks. The paralysis is total.
In any European parliament, in any boardroom from Oslo to Ljubljana, someone would have leaned over by now. Tapped a shoulder. Said, quietly but clearly, that perhaps this isn’t the moment. Somebody would have done something, because the alternative, pretending a sleeping man is running a meeting, would have been too absurd to sustain.
Not here. Here, seven men have collectively decided that the correct professional response to the President losing consciousness in the Oval Office is to carry on as though he were a particularly demanding houseplant.
Entering month 6 of the Mamdani mayorship of NYC and Robberies are down 11%, Retail theft is down 19%, and Murder is down an astounding 21%.
And he did so without "Adding 5000 new cops" to the streets. Instead, he's invested in public safety with free childcare, accessible infrastructure, and better funded schools and libraries. He's proven once again that if we want safer communities, we must invest in People—not Punishments.
266,000 jobs under Biden:
“slowed”
“muddled expectations”
“fell short”
172,000 jobs under trump:
“upswing”
“vigorous”
“strong sign for economy”
This is the double standard Dems have had to deal with for the past 10 years.
You’re trying to pay for your gas and groceries and this guy is literally sitting in the White House stealing your taxpayer money by the billions to put in his own pocket.
Another 185 Ukrainian defenders are returning home today from Russian captivity. One civilian is also returning along with the defenders. They are warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine – privates, sergeants, and officers. They defended our state in Mariupol and at Azovstal, as well as in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk sectors. Among them are those returning after years in Russian captivity, where they had been held since 2022.
I thank everyone who makes this possible: the team working on exchanges and our partners. And special gratitude to the warriors who replenish our exchange fund – who, through their strength and results on the frontline, ensure the return of our people home. The work continues. The return of our people is a constant priority for Ukraine. Every day, we are working to free every Ukrainian man and woman from captivity.
Unfortunately, the Russian side once again chooses war – everyone heard the response today. Weak response. He simply does not want to end the war.
I think many around the world were disappointed by that response. He does not want to change anything, and he does not want to admit that this war appeals only to him – and to those who are making money off him. They were all smiling very broadly today.
That means Russia must have less money, and there must be more pressure on Russia.
I thank everyone who is helping us. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine and wants a real peace.
America has NEVER been less safe.
A Fox News host runs the DOD
A plumber runs DHS
A landscaper runs Domestic Terrorism
A Trump lawyer runs the DOJ
A Maga influencer runs the FBI
And now a trust fund brat with ZERO Intel experience runs the DNI 🤬
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: Trump’s golden ballroom isn’t a gift. It’s a $400 million corruption built on the rubbles of the East Wing.
Public Citizen just dropped the receipts: 14 of 27 known corporate donors received $50.46 billion in new or expanded federal contracts in the six months since the demolition.
Worse, 16 of those donors were facing DOJ antitrust cases, NLRB labor violations, SEC probes, or merger reviews. Many of those actions were dropped, dismissed, or quietly scaled back after the donations started flowing.
Then they got billions in taxpayer-funded contracts and regulatory relief and then gave less than 1% of it back for the president’s personal palace upgrade.
This is textbook corruption using our tax dollars. The timing and scale would make any RICO prosecutor blush. Now let's see if the mainstream media does its job.

Last night, the House chose to stand with Ukraine, and I was proud to cast my vote.
We passed military and reconstruction aid for Ukraine, plus hard new sanctions on Russia.
We did it over the objections of Mike Johnson and Republican leadership, who spent over a year trying to keep this bill from ever hitting the floor.
Eighteen Republicans crossed the aisle and did the right thing.
Why does this matter?
Because when a giant authoritarian state invades a smaller democracy, there is no gray area. There is no “both sides.”
Vladimir Putin is a thug. He started an unprovoked war. He flattened cities. He stole children from their families. Helping Ukraine isn’t charity. It’s the test of whether we still mean a single word we say about freedom.
I heard every excuse. The war’s winding down, they said, so let’s wait and see. Nonsense. You don’t strengthen a democracy by going wobbly the second things get hard. You don’t stop the next invasion by telling the world American resolve comes with an expiration date. Putin is watching. So is every dictator who dreams of taking what isn’t his by force.
This bill still has to clear the Senate and survive a presidential signature. The odds are long. But the House did its job. And we said it plainly: no country gets swallowed whole just because a tyrant wants it.
I’ll keep fighting to see this through. Ukraine’s fight is our fight, and we do not abandon our friends.

If Republicans want to talk about fraud, let’s do it. Trump is responsible for:
✅Defrauding college students
✅Profiting off the presidency
✅Crypto scams
✅Corrupt foreign deals
✅Self-dealing government contracts
✅Shady real estate transactions
✅Pump & dump stock schemes
✅Pardons for political allies
Care to comment, @HouseGOP?
The Iranian navy, which has been destroyed eight times, has apparently closed the Strait of Hormuz again, because the United States, for the seventh time, won the war that wasn’t a war, so now the United States has to open the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the not-war began.
The not-war began because Iran had uranium that was totally, completely, beautifully obliterated, so they can’t build the nuclear bomb they weren’t building, which is why the United States had to start the not-war it definitely didn’t start.
Now the United States, which has nuclear weapons, is threatening to use nuclear weapons to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, because nuclear weapons are far too dangerous for countries with nuclear weapons to allow other countries to have.
If the United States saw the United States doing what the United States does in other countries, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States.
Trump promised not to “touch” Medicaid.
Now he is cutting it by $1 trillion and taking health care away from patients with cancer, AIDS and other life-threatening diseases to pay for tax breaks to the top 1% and his wealthy campaign contributors.
Unimaginable cruelty.
"Trump’s legal team has refused to hand over financial information requested by BBC lawyers in his $10bn defamation case against the broadcaster, according to court filings seen by the FT...
In response, the BBC has sought to identify the financial impact of the documentary, including serving a subpoena on the Donald J Trump Revocable Trust, which holds the president’s business interests and assets. It is managed by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, who is the sole trustee."

These are all programs that Trump has cut funding for and I’m curious where all this money went! Why aren’t we asking questions. Why isn’t Congress asking questions! 🤬
It is Albanians, not Americans, who are protesting against American corruption.
The US appears to have accepted the corruption of the Trump family, so we Americans have to rely upon the sound anti-corruption sentiments of others.
Truly embarrassing, but thank you, Albania!
At 4am, Senate Republicans gave the greenlight for the IRS to drop ALL investigations into Trump and his family.
That means if Trump is evading taxes, we’ll never know.
I have a bill to make this illegal. And I won’t stop fighting to get it done.
