25 years ago, BoA debuted in Japan.
After failed attempts, she was the first K-pop act to break into the Japanese market. By achieving a level of success equal to Japanese singers, BoA kicked the doors open for Koreans in the country and became K-pop's first international star.
@ID_ThymosM i wonder what is BApal’s strategy with this release 🤔 it doesn’t make a lot of sense to make international fans wait so long to hear a song in english
@jojowu__@pannchoa exactly!! and even if she looked completely different, how lame is it that they would rather talk about her looks while she’s in such an important moment of her career? it upsets me how people don’t show her basic respect. i hope she continues to avoid social media
i’m never not amazed at how cruel this industry is to women. BoA just opened her own label and is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her revolutionary career in Japan, yet what the press chooses to talk about is her face.
@pannchoa you should be ashamed
💋 11 years ago, BoA released her 8th Korean album, Kiss My Lips.
BoA wrote, composed, and produced all 12 tracks on the album, and is also credited as an arranger. Kiss My Lips was the first artist-driven album by an SM act and won Record of the Year at the Seoul Music Awards.
“BoA transcends the limitations of any dance level. She’s like a blank canvas, able to have any picture painted on her. She surpasses any other singer of her generation.” — Flii Stylz, choreographer for Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Beyoncé, talking about BoA.
For the ones who are confused, Hyoyeon herself revelead this on an interview a few years ago.
I spent the whole day off the internet and just logged in to so many people being so mad over such an inoffensive tweet😭
Did you know?
GOT the Beat was invited to perform at the 2022 edition of Coachella, however, SM Entertainment declined the invitation, claiming that the group did not have enough repertoire for a full show.
