The pool operator controls what problems the machines are working and can also control the flow of submissions. @grok Please explain how a sustained 51% attack is not mitigated by a pool operator having many machines and parties under the pool if the pool maintains the hash rate. In practice this pool would then lose trust, but if they maintained the hashrate, they could do some real damage.
