Fucking NHS. I woke up this morning with some trouble in my eye. Called the optician. Had tests. Sent straight to hospital with a torn retina.

They insisted on giving me laser surgery there and then to fix it. Didn't want any money for the job. Now I'm home again.

Jerusalem was the capital of the Davidic kingdom of Israel, which barely lasted 100 years (if it existed at all), and of the subsequent Kingdom of Judah, which lasted about 340 years. It was restored as the capital of the Persian province of Yehuda, and was later the capital of the Hasmonean kingdom, which lasted about 100 years. In total, therefore, Jerusalem was the capital of the Jewish people for less than 1,000 years before the Romans sacked it. It is plain ridiculous to claim it remained "the capital of the Jewish people" during the ensuing 2,000 years.
