Understand what it means when ten mercies descend for every Durūd that is recited:
- It means all your worries will eventually be removed.
- It means all your problems will be solved in the best way.
- It means all your issues will be sorted through divine wisdom.
It cannot be that the mercies of Allāh are descending upon a servant, and that servant remains consumed by grief and despair. Durūd is there to bring relief and repair.
O Umm Ma'bad, indulge the restless heart that yearns; unfold for it the tale of a love so rare, so refined, that it brought the very notion of character to its most perfect completion... ﷺ
Allah ﷻ is al-Rabb; the Lord. Al-Rabb is the One who creates, owns, sustains, nurtures, and brings to completion—stage by stage, moment by moment—until we reach the purpose for which we were made.
It is a Name that is at once majestic and intimate, encompassing authority and care, power and tenderness.
At its root, Rabb carries the meaning of tarbiyah—to cultivate, to raise, to nurture something gradually until it reaches its full potential. And this is what makes this Name so deeply personal: Allah ﷻ is not only our Creator in a distant sense, but our constant caretaker, the One actively involved in every detail of your existence.
He is:
o The One who brought us into existence from nothing,
o The One who sustains us with every breath you take,
o The One who provides for our body, heart, and soul,
o The One who guides us, even when we are lost,
o The One who rectifies us, even through hardship,
o The One who never abandons us, even when we forget Him.
Al-Rabb is the One who raises us—through blessings and through trials—until we become who we were meant to be.
Draw near to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by increasing in ṣalawāt upon him. Sending abundant ṣalawāt is a means of reviving the heart, following the Sunnah, and attaining closeness to Allah.
“I have not seen anything that dispels worry like reciting the Qur’ān with reflection, for through it the heart is given a life unlike any other.” - Ibn al-Jawzī (raḥimahullāh)
Have Honour in Your Own Religion

Reflecting on the Perfection of Creation
• The creation of seven heavens, each layered above the other, perfectly matched in attributes and flawless in precision testify to the greatness of the Most Merciful.
• If Allah has perfected His creation with such care, then His law, revealed for His servants, is even more precise and complete. How unfortunate is the one who deviates from it!
Act: Go outside today and spend time looking at the sky and thinking about Allah ﷻ!

The quickest way to receive the aid of Allāh is through helping another person—because: “Allāh is in the aid of the servant so long as the servant is in the aid of his brother.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)
If you take time to help others, Allāh takes it upon Himself to care for you.
Help the weak… your life never be bleak.
Ease someone’s despair… and you’ll find contentment everywhere.
Assist other humans…Allāh will ease your burdens.
Be there for the creation… and Allāh will give you a solution for every tribulation.
Uplift a soul in pain… and you will be the one who will really gain.
Bring joy to another’s day… and your sorrow will drift away.
Bring peace to another's night… and your chest will glow with light.
Wipe away a tear… and happiness will instantly appear.
Sending ṣalawāt on the Prophet ﷺ is more than merely uttering words with the tongue, whether with full concentration or distraction.
Every salutation is a solution.
Every salutation leads to elevation.
Every salutation is a source of elation.
Every salutation is a means of salvation.
Every salutation connects us with the best of all creation.
We should make it our daily application—to send salutation after salutation.
IMAM AL-NAWWAWI ON “CRABS IN THE BARREL” JEALOUSY
Hadith #13 in The 40 Hadith Collection of Imam al-Nawwawi is:
“None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى يحب لأخيه ما يحب لنفسه
Al-Nawwawi comments that the meaning of this Hadith should be broadened to apply to both Muslims and non-Muslims as the word “brother” covers both inasmuch that one should love for his non-Muslim brother to become Muslim and for his Muslim brother to remain a Muslim. Love, in this case, is of a religious nature, not the volatile human emotional trait which can deafen and blind. Rather, love means “to desire good and benefit for another” (إرادة الخير و المنفعة). Otherwise, one would be accused of jealousy of the kind Islam condemns.
Jealousy is a blameworthy trait although the Prophet—upon him Allah’s blessing peace—taught us that it is fitting when it is directed towards one blessed with knowledge of the Qur’an who recites it incessantly or one blessed with wealth who gives regular charity. This, however, is a metaphorical jealousy known in Arabic as ‘gibtah’ (الغبطة).
Blameworthy jealousy takes three forms: 1) to want someone else’s blessings taken away for one’s self; 2) to want for them to lose their blessings; and 3) to not want another surpass one’s self and to remain on equal footing.
I call this form “Crabs in the Barrel Jealousy” as it reflects the attitude of so many impoverished souls who hate to see their peers doing better than themselves.
Al-Nawwawi says,
“The third [form] is for him not to wish for the blessing to be removed from the other. He, rather, dislikes for one to have a material and social advantage above himself; He is satisfied with him being equal but unsatisfied with a disparity [between the two of them]. This [jealousy] is also prohibited because one is dissatisfied with Allah’s material allocation (القسمة). Allah says, “Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who distribute their livelihood among them in the life of this world, and have elevated some of them to ranks over others, that some may employ others as workers. But the mercy of your Lord is better than what they amass” (Q 43:32). So, anyone dissatisfied with Allah’s material allocation displays opposition to Allah’s allocation and His wisdom. So, man must treat his ego, impose upon it satisfaction with the divine decree, and opp
ose it through supplication for his enemy with things that break the ego.”
Reflect for a moment on the creation of man: a being fashioned from a drop of fluid, shaped delicately in the darkness of the womb, born weak and in need. Now compare this small, fragile existence to the grandeur of the universe around him. Our entire planet, with all its mountains, oceans, and civilizations, is just a speck of dust suspended in space, orbiting an ordinary star—the sun—in a single galaxy called the Milky Way. The Milky Way alone contains over 100 billion stars—each potentially with its own planets, each burning with its own fire. And yet, the Milky Way is only one galaxy among an estimated two trillion galaxies in the observable universe, each galaxy teeming with hundreds of billions of stars. The heavens stretch out in layers upon layers, distances so vast that human minds can scarcely comprehend them—light traveling at 186,000 miles per second would take over 100,000 years just to cross our one galaxy.
And all of this—this breathtaking expanse, this endless kingdom—is but a portion of Allah’s dominion, a small glimpse into His infinite power.
How small then is man? How feeble, how dependent? Yet, despite this minuteness, Allah ﷻ, the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth, chose to speak to us, to guide us, and to elevate us through faith and worship. Indeed, 'the creation of the heavens and the earth is far greater than the creation of mankind, but most of mankind do not know.' (Sūrah Ghāfir 40:57)"
Allah will relieve him from a hardship of the Day of Judgement. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Judgement.” (Bukhārī)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfils the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfil his needs. Whoever relieves a Muslim from a hardship,
A Powerful Duʿa Against the Enemy
O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Mover of the clouds, Defeater of the tribes, defeat them and grant us victory over them. (Bukhārī)
“Even though he makes a lot of mistakes on absolutely basic stuff, but he still has good to offer.”
If you wouldn’t accept this excuse for those who step forth to care for your physical health and well-being in the passing material world, it is even less appropriate to accept it for those who step forth to care for spiritual health and salvation in the never-ending hereafter.
