and again it’s rlly not about foah or finn or noah at the end of the day cause why is anyone on here saying people who haven’t met your standards in their “outness” are undeserving of love and connection and empathy hello ? the plot ? has it been lost ?
and it’s not even just about finn. it’s about the many ‘closeted’ people out there who may see that and feel as though they are unworthy of love and companionship, or feel as though their pace or journey is something to be ashamed of, or discover yet another layer of judgment
Btw, I don't think Finn is closeted. I think he is private about being queer the same way he is private about his relationships in general: to avoid harassment/intrusion. But he's not afraid to express himself in his music, clothes, go to LGBTQ+ events etc. He's just low-profile.
Noah is his own person away from Finn and his friends, he deserves people who talk about him individually instead of making everything about someone else, yes, that's annoying, and you're welcome to block them, but his comments are fine and shaming closeted people is wrong too.👍
this post is not solely about finn either btw. saying anyone is a coward for not publically labelling their sexuality or remaining in the closet for specific reasons is the complete opposite of what we should be doing especially during pride month
"so one day my sons and their sons can, you know, be proudly gay and not have to come out anymore"
it's almost like you don't want that process that to start by saying people are cowards for not publicly saying their sexuality 🤔
weaponizing shame and using it in a derogatory manner in an attempt to insult and belittle a person who they consider to be “closeted” and during PRIDE MONTH too… a fucking choice!
speechs about real famous ppl matter bc they reflect your thoughts about actual human beings, this isn't about stan war or a single individual. so many people struggle to come out and to accept their sexuality. let's learn to have empathy + to be decent human beings first
"you're not behind, you're exactly where you're supposed to be", a reminder that every single person has their own time to come in thermes with their sexuality or to come out publicly + their own reality. NO ONE has the right to decide that. this is not a race, this is real life
i always wonder how many times finn has to say "them" in a sentence regarding a romantic partner for people to realise he's queer because it seems 3 times isn't enough
im sorry to my mutuals if you keep seeing me fight with solos but I refuse to stay quiet on homophobia especially not during a month where every queer person should feel seen and heard and I never want someone to feel like their journey isn’t valid, no matter what they say🩷
@_hellshee_ “People should just admit that their version of Byler is fanon” uh, no. Who are you, the arbitrator of fandom? Nobody has to explain themselves to you or “admit” anything to you, especially when you’re speaking out of your ass.
@fearlessbyers Right, this goes beyond a specific case, it concerns everyone because it sends a disparaging message to queer ppl who aren't out for whatever reason and our community is supposed to be there to provide compassion, education and a sense of belonging, not intolerance and exclusion
yea and this goes way beyond finn. i was genuinely stunned reading that cuz it’s such a harmful take. it makes ppl feel like there’s smth wrong w them just bc they haven’t come out yet, and that’s a whole other discussion in itself
instead of admiring noah's bravery, you're expecting everyone to act the same and that's not how life works. this is not about finn or stan war, discourses like yours affect real people out there struggling to come out. I sincerely hope that you learn an ounce of empathy
idk why they're implying canon byler is like... incompatible and unshippable? the show gives you so many instances where it underlines how they understand each other better than mike understands his girlfriend or other friends and how will trusts mike with things he doesn't with the rest of the party and how important they are to each other. their bond is special and even when byler isn't endgame in canon, it ends with a version of mike that wishes happiness for will and not the stagnant season 3 rain fight version they have in their heads as the final and only version of mike. yeah, mike does have shitty moments to makeup for and we can play with that in fanon, but the baseline for mike, byler and their potential is still strictly canon and very much shippable. that's why the debate here is just out of spite because you can't seriously look at canon and wonder why would anyone ship byler. like don't pmo
