I’m a delegate to the #DNC2024. This week in Chicago, I’ll use every moment to fight for an immediate ceasefire and an arms embargo.
I grew up an Orthodox Jew. For 2/3 of my life, I believed the occupation was necessary for my safety. This is my story:

Thankfully, as a Ward 13 resident, I get to vote for Annajane Yolken in Sept. AJ is extraordinary. She's seen our city’s struggles up close—and will lead from a place of compassion and kindness, which our politics desperately needs more of. She has my full, enthusiastic support.
Rachel Miller redefined the role of Council President: not just wielding power, but sharing it—with her colleagues, organizers, and the community. Every day, I’ve watched her ask the same question: what can we do to help the most people? I’m really going to miss her leadership.
I’m sending love, solidarity, and gratitude to the workers at 6 and 10 (don’t get me started on Nexstar), who deserve respect, stability, and investment, not endless corporate greed.

Standard Media has sold @ABC6 to conservative mega-corporation Sinclair, and once again it’s the workers who pay the price—some now losing their jobs. Rhode Island’s talented, hardworking journalists deserve so much better.

In comes Sinclair—whose chairman famously told Donald Trump, “We are here to deliver your message”—and it shouldn’t surprise you what they do: immediately cut jobs. Two parent companies who treat newsrooms like trading cards and journalists as disposable.

Outlets can’t just talk about equity—they have to fund it. Spanish-language coverage needs to stop being treated like a side project. In a city like ours, it’s essential to providing real coverage. When we lose reporters like Alex, we fail the people we’re here to serve.
A city that’s nearly 50% Latino needs robust Spanish-language press infrastructure.
The loss of the incredible @alextpnews should be a wake-up call—it’s past time media outlets meaningfully invest in reporters like Alex who connect with residents through both language & culture.
"The video clearly shows officers pull people out of a home, punching one of the residents repeatedly while he was pinned to the ground with knees on his neck and face. This appears to be a clearly excessive response to what is ostensibly concern about noise." [5/5]
"My man, keep running your mouth my man, alright? You're gonna find yourself in fucking jail man."
On Thursday, 11 city councilors called on Providence Police to release the body cam footage from the July 4 West Friendship Street incident. They just did. Watch for yourself.
@StephMachado Thank you @jakeforri and @RebeccaKislak! Incredible help to Council putting forward a balanced, fair proposal where both owner-occupied single family homes and owner-occupied 2-5 unit homes each see a 6% average increase (as opposed to 16% and 4%!)
