At age 32 and a near career ending injury in 2017, I asked what was next?
He said he had considered retiring many times over the years but hasn’t yet decided if now is the time. Said he always thought going out on top made sense, but like he said, “After a long season, I don’t feel like getting on the bike right now, but I’m treading lightly around the idea of retirement. You’re busy, busy, busy, and then all of the sudden it stops. And I know that’s a difficult task to do.”
It’s easy to say you’re going to retire. It’s hard to walk away.
