A couple of sketches, some quick calculations from Josh and our pupils were away in constructing two sensory paths for our forest school. Each section will be filled with something different to attract the senses. Amazing work from our yr 6’s once again #grafters
Our year 6 pupils loved making this arm chair for our forest school yesterday. The pupils measured, marked out, cut and drilled it all together! A hard days work for them which they thoroughly enjoyed
Another amazing project day with @VIYproject yesterday. Our pupils made 2 herb planters to be used for our cooking lessons. A massive shout out to Jason Odell and Joshua Lune from @TP_plc for supporting the project and also for Imran and Saj for delivering another great day!
Been an excellent few weeks with the st bede’s master chef group! So far they have made garlic focaccia, nachos with guacamole and salsa, beef burritos and also veggie burritos. Today they also had a teams session with @VIYproject thinking about soft and hard skills! #busybees
Brilliant to finish off the well-being garden this week. The students should be so proud of what they have achieved over the last 7 weeks. They turned a previously derelict area into a beautiful place for reflection and meditation #BedesWellBeing
A new year and a new curriculum – not just in school!
Following the success of our online learning during ‘lockdown’, the staff at St Bede’s have designed a new innovative curriculum for pupils that can be done entirely online.
The well-being garden is taking some shape now. Ready to fill the planters with lots of colourful plants after half term. The students have worked so hard on this so far and we look forward to the final result!
Thanks again @VIYproject for helping us finish our project for our well being garden. The students enjoyed the challenge and are very grateful for your time and expertise!
Always a pleasure with students from @junior_bede as part of our @CareerEnt@CEC_Worcs#mentoring programme. A big thanks to our mentors and @TP_plc Redditch for providing the materials to bring this project to life. We are looking forward to next week already! #VIYschools
The pupils worked hard on their project day with @VIYproject yesterday. The mentors loved it so much they are back to finish it off with us next week! A fantastic day of learning hands on carpentry skills - a big thank you to Zamir, Saj and Martin for their time and expertise
Also, we had our first teams video session with @VIYproject . Simi got the pupils to learn about different soft and hard skills that can be learned through volunteering - really focusing on the impact it can have on their own lives #careers
Another productive day yesterday working on the well-being garden. The group marked out how big they want their flower beds, then began the recycling process of old decking boards we have in school. Plenty of hammering, sanding and sawing!
We’re back! This half term we are working mainly with pupils whose parents are key workers. Our aim is to produce a well-being garden, for all to use, here at St Bede’s. Keep on the look out for weekly updates! We’re excited to see where this one goes!
Sunny days like these reminds us of some of our fabulous outdoor VIY projects including @ChapelHigh , @junior_bede and @PriorySouthsea all participants on our @CareerEnt mentoring programme. We cannot wait to get back out in the sunshine with projects. #tbt#mentoring#VIYschools
Missing the farm days! This was from our last visit where the pupils loved pottering around doing jobs with the other workers. In times like these we encourage all parents and carers to get their kids involved in learning vocational skills. All about hands on experiences!
The group didn’t stop grafting today on the farm! Mucking out, feeding, stone collecting, clearing donkey dirt...they did it all!! What an experience to see one of the sheep give birth to twins as well #memoriesforlife
