What if the way we’ve been taught to think about the mind is incomplete?

For years, I consumed business and personal development content that taught me:

Control your thoughts.
Change your thinking.
Create better outcomes.

Some of it helped.

But some of it also created anxiety and pressure because I was treating the mind as if it were the whole person.

Scripture is pushing me toward a bigger picture.

We are not just minds.

There is the spirit—our Godward dimension.

The soul—our inner life: mind, will, desires, and emotions.

And the body—our embodied life in the physical world.

The mind matters.

But it has a place.

That realization has led me into two other subjects: calling and the human heart.

You can learn from someone else’s calling.

But you cannot borrow it.

Your calling has to be worked out in relationship with the God who made you.

And as it becomes clearer, you have to take responsibility for your time, energy, attention, and resources.

Because clarity about your assignment creates clarity about your distractions.

Then there’s the heart.

Scripture describes the heart as more than emotion.

It touches our desires, beliefs, intentions, and choices.

That matters deeply for Christian business.

Building faithfully isn’t only about what you think.

It’s also about:

What you love.
What you believe.
What you desire.
What you choose.

The deeper I go, the more connected these three subjects seem:

Mind.
Calling.
Heart.

I’m spending the next year exploring that connection—not just to gain knowledge, but to understand what it means to build a life and business around a biblical understanding of the whole person.

Maybe faithful business isn’t mainly about controlling your mind.

Maybe it starts with allowing God to transform the whole person.

Mind. Heart. Body. Desires. Decisions. Work.

Which are you wrestling with most right now: your mind, your calling, or your heart?

Day 2: 3 Topics I Am Exploring In My Life Right Now

There are three topics I find myself thinking about a lot these days.

Topic #1: The Mind

I’m becoming increasingly interested in the mind—especially because of how it is often presented in business and personal development.

A lot of books, speakers, and gurus teach us how to master the mind, control our thoughts, and use the mind as a tool for success.

But I’m beginning to question what happens when we study the mind in isolation from the rest of the person.

From what I’m seeing in Scripture, a human being is more than a mind.

There is the spirit, through which we relate to God; the soul, which includes the mind, will, and emotions; and the body, through which we interact with the physical world.

The mind has a place—but it is not the whole person.

For years, I consumed ideas that made the mind feel like the center of everything. Looking back, I think some of those ideas contributed to anxiety, pressure, and unhealthy ways of relating to myself.

So over the next year, I want to study this more deeply.

I want to unlearn what needs to be unlearned and rebuild my understanding of the mind around Scripture—seeing the human being as a whole: spirit, soul, and body.

Topic #2: Calling

I became more interested in the subject of calling through my morning Bible study.

The more I studied Scripture, the more I started thinking about how seriously people like Paul treated the assignment God had given them.

That raised a question for me:

If God has given you a specific assignment, how much of your life should be organized around it?

I’m learning that calling is not something you simply copy from another person.

You can learn from people, but you cannot borrow their assignment.

Calling has to be discovered in relationship with God—the One who made you.

And once you begin to recognize it, you have to take responsibility for it.

That means protecting the time, energy, attention, and resources required to pursue it.

Because once your assignment becomes clear, many things that previously looked important may reveal themselves as distractions.

I want to explore more deeply what it means to discover your calling, own it, and organize your life around it.

Topic #3: The Human Heart

The third topic I’m exploring is the human heart.

In Scripture, the heart seems to be much more than emotion.

It appears again and again as the inner place from which our desires, beliefs, intentions, and decisions flow.

That fascinates me.

Especially because my work revolves around Christian business coaching and Christian lifestyle business.

If we want to understand how a Christian should build a business, work, make decisions, manage time, pursue a calling, and serve God, we eventually have to understand the whole person.

Not only what someone thinks.

But what they love.

What they believe.

What they desire.

What they choose.

And what is happening in their heart.

That is the rabbit hole I’m currently exploring.

The mind.
The calling.
The human heart.

I have a feeling these three subjects are far more connected than they first appear.

Day 1: Why I’m Restarting to Write Online

I recently signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole’s cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.

Here are a few reasons why:

1. I’m in a season where I feel called to reposition myself toward an English-speaking audience.

For years, I’ve created and written most of my content in French for a French-speaking audience. But I increasingly feel that this next season requires me to write and communicate in English.

2. I naturally think in English.

Most of my ideas come to me in English, and I’ve spent a lot of time translating those thoughts into French before publishing them.

That process can feel heavy.

Sometimes the message loses its natural flow, clarity, and ability to move people to action.

I want to write closer to the way I actually think.

3. God is part of this story.

I trust Him with this shift.

For me, this feels less like a decision and more like a direction.

My personal preference was to continue serving mainly a French-speaking audience, but I believe I’m being called to take the message of Christian entrepreneurship to a more global audience.

Because many worldly approaches to entrepreneurship promote skills, systems, and ways of working that end up driving people toward anxiety, depression, deception, and endless hustle.

I believe there is another way to build.

A way rooted in faith, service, purpose, stewardship, healthy productivity, and obedience to God.

A way where business becomes a tool to serve people and fulfill God’s purposes—not something that consumes your life.

Over the next 30 days, I’ll be writing about:

This is a new chapter for me.
