@buckysbiwife They aren’t 1:1, but I’m speaking in terms of roles. They should both be killers with no remorse surrounded by other heroes who clash with their values
Really awesome that the “woke” superhero series, that begins with the disposable girlfriend of color trope, demonizes BDSM, and stars a literal IDF soldier, ends with capitalism always winning and a white hetero couple starting a nuclear family.
@Zarren364@VermilViathan I never rejected biological trends, but people use them to reinforce gender stereotypes and norms. Take body hair. Seen as masculine, but it’s natural for women to grow it. Despite this, society determined its stance on body hair being masculine despite it being natural for all.
@Zarren364@VermilViathan You are confusing sex with gender. Yes, biologically men and women can be different, but there is no biological reasons for anyone to follow particular aesthetics, labels, or language. Those non-biological identifiers are gender
@Zarren364@VermilViathan This is true of trans people. They are likely raised as their gender at birth and given interests that seemingly align with a gender’s aesthetics. Gender constructs are what make parents try to make boys like trucks, but hobbies do not equate to one’s self identification
@Zarren364@VermilViathan As a cis male, you will have more overlap with MTFs in exclusively upbringing because you likely were both raised as boys. Gender constructs are what determines that both parties should be raised as such. It’s conditioning for gender aesthetics that are not built in one’s DNA
@Zarren364@VermilViathan Again, true of all trans and cis people. Society chooses people’s gender, but it’s ultimately up to the individual for what they feel is right. They can agree with what society gave them or determine for theirselves
@Zarren364@VermilViathan This is true of all transgender and cis people. Everyone has an innate desire to look or act a certain way, but the gender constructs tell them to conform
@Zarren364@VermilViathan But being a biological man or woman does not necessarily determine hormone levels. Cis men can have high e levels and low t, vice versa with women. If hormones do determine behavior like you say, then there should not be any societal pressure for any sex to act a certain way
@Zarren364@VermilViathan In summary, there is no natural reason for men or women to dress or behave in any specific ways. Society is what tries to make men like blue and girls like pink, but we as individuals should be entitled to our own aesthetics
@Zarren364@VermilViathan Reimer falls victim to the social construct because society deemed him as a girl due to the botched circumcision (gender aesthetic). Society chose gender for him because of his genitals, same with how it tries to choose with anyone.
