Our Sparrows explored fruits and spices enjoying tasting, smelling them. They described them as, "smelling like Christmas" . Providing experiences which allow the free exploration of objects ensures children investigate what interests them at their own pace #redjacketpeople

Roddy attracted some of our Sparrows who wanted to know what he was doing. They then joined him and helped! The path is now called Sparrow Path. Giving children real experiences of caring for and adapting their environment provides them with ownership and pride. #redjacketpeople

The Woodpeckers have been making a house for santa in the Walled Garden, using loose parts. The endless opportunities of loose parts provides an experience rich in language development, creativity and problem solving. #redjacketpeople

We have been forging for Christmas crafts today. We found lots of holly and some greenery from fallen trees after the wild weather. We discussed the importance of leaving some holly berries for the birds over the winter. #redjacketpeople

The finches looking at the icy pond, discussing weather and its effects. Then heating up by the logburner learning about fire safety and what fuels fire, before we have a real fire in the park. #redjacketpeople

Lots of snow fun today in #Vogrie We went sledging and then enjoyed stories and chatting by the fire. The children were checked regularly for their core temperature. This is how we ensure children are safe, comfortable and enjoying all our Scottish weather. #redjacketpeople

We had our first snow fall today in #VogrieOutdoorELC the Sparrows enjoyed exploring the snow and the effect it had on their surroundings. We discovered what happens when we hold snow and ice in our hands and then warmed up by the fire. #STEM #redjacketpeople
