@SiClancy It doesn't. I had the same feeling and I've watched hundreds of shows. Never understood the hype about it. I advise you to forget about it and watch something new or rewatch one of your favourites 😉
So, @X and @elonmusk refuse to remove this. Notice the 'paid partnership.' Elon Musk and his employees support terrorism, but no one should be surprised. After all, they support the slaughter of women and children across West Asia.
The mass atrocity in Gaza is a genocide, obviously, and is an undisguised ethnic cleansing operation.
But it's also a lot more than that.
It's an experiment — to see what kinds of abuses the public will accept without causing significant disruption to the imperial status quo.
It's a psychological operation — to push out the boundaries of what's normal and acceptable in our minds so that we will consent to even more horrific abuses in the future.
It's a symptom — of Zionism, of colonialism, of militarism, of capitalism, of western supremacism, of empire-building, of propaganda, of ignorance, of apathy, of delusion, of ego.
It's a manifestation — of violent racist, supremacist and xenophobic belief systems that have always been there but were previously restrained, meeting with the unwholesome nature of alliances that have long been in place but have been aggressively normalized.
It's a disclosure — showing us what the western empire we live under really is underneath its fake plastic mask of liberal democracy and righteous humanitarianism.
It's a revelation — showing us who among us really stands for truth and justice and who has been deceiving us about themselves and their motives this entire time.
It's a catalyst — a galvanizing force and a rallying cry for all who realize that the murderous power structures we live under can no longer be allowed to stand, and a blaring alarm clock opening more and more snoozing eyes to the need for revolutionary change.
It's a test — of who we are as a species and what we are made of, and of whether we can transcend the destructive patterning that is driving humanity to its doom.
It's a question — asking us what kind of world we want to live in going forward, and what kind of people we want to be.
It's an invitation — to become something better than what we are now.
Europe’s descent into toxic insignificance continues:
The EU is clueless on Ukraine, except that it does not want a Peace Treaty until Russia is… defeated.
The EU does nothing practical to contain Israel’s genocide & total war.
The EU doesn’t engage with either Moscow or Beijing or the Arab regimes in the pursuit of Peace. Even Trump engages more with them!
All the EU proposes is to bankrupt itself further as it buys obsolete weaponry it does not need.
A fairly insignificant incident of a few people getting a well-deserved kicking after a football match has completely destroyed the credibility of media organisations and politicians all over the world. Wonderful turn of events.
After Trump ordered the assassination of General Soleimani, an Iranian cleric complained that Iran can't even really retaliate because the US doesn't have any real heroes of its own like Soleimani, saying "Think about it. Are we supposed to take out Spider-Man and SpongeBob?"
I've never seen a more incisive and withering critique of western culture, and I probably never will. It's such an accurate statement and paints such a clear picture of what this civilization is really like that it's hard to imagine how anyone could possibly top it.
There are no real heroes with popular support in the western empire, because everything that's truly heroic gets stomped down here, and everything that gets amplified to popularity is either vapid distraction or directly facilitates the interests of the evil empire.
Our own generals are busy butchering civilians for oil and geostrategic control.
Our military personnel are imperial stormtroopers.
Our police are the security guards of capitalism.
Our most prominent journalists are all propagandists.
Our most prominent celebrities are famous because of their ability to pretend to be fictional characters doing fake things in Hollywood movies.
Our most prominent artists are famous for their ability to churn out formulaic pop songs about empty-headed bullshit.
Our most widely recognized symbols are corporate logos.
Our most highly regarded professionals are those who can sell westerners the most future landfill manufactured by wage slaves in the global south.
Our most well-known government leaders are those who've sold their souls to oligarchs and imperialists and can lie to the public most convincingly.
The only westerners doing truly heroic things here get thrown in prison, or murdered, or pushed into obscurity, because the only truly heroic thing anyone can do in today's world is to take a stand against the western empire.
Those who bravely resist the US war machine or make themselves inconvenient for the rulers of the western empire don't get to become popular heroes. You don't see the westerners who work to stop weapons shipments to Gaza being celebrated for their efforts on CNN and the BBC. You don't see antiwar activists getting Hollywood movies made about their work — at least not until the wars they were protesting lie safely in the distant past. You don't see journalists who work to expose the most egregious crimes of the empire being elevated to fame and fortune.
The only figures who get elevated to fame and fortune in this fake plastic dystopia are those who either actively serve the interests of the empire or who passively distract people from its abuses. Donald Trump. The Kardashians. Taylor Swift. Spider-Man and SpongeBob.
Those are the only heroes we're allowed to have here in any major way. You can have real heroes if you want, but if you tell the average westerner their names the first word out of their mouth will be, "Who?"
Every once in a great while someone will sneak past the many security checkpoints into fame and begin opposing the empire, but they are always quickly demonized and marginalized by the imperial perception managers. And for every Roger Waters or Susan Sarandon, there are a thousand imposter heroes making themselves extremely convenient for the rulers of the western empire.
This is the civilization we live in. A mind-controlled wasteland where everything is fake and stupid. The only path toward fulfillment and inner peace in such a dystopia is to dedicate yourself to tearing it down, brick by plastic brick.
Having the worst possible Labour Party at the same time as the worst possible Conservative Party at the same time as the US has the worst possible Democratic Party at the same time as the worst possible Republican Party isn’t just a coincidence we can just shrug off.
This is the result of decades of intentional centralisation of power and wealth, courtesy of late-stage capitalism, and the resulting authoritarianism working to prevent any reasonable alternative to the managed duopoly.
Or, in short, this terrible, undemocratic and dystopian juncture, where the nations who helped write international law ignore it to murder thousands of children, is the result of what happens when the system works precisely as intended—so we the people have no political power, the tyrants do as they please, and every avenue to change is blocked and tightly controlled.
This is what happens when we meekly accept terrible ‘representatives’ on repeat: they continue to disenfranchise us while pacifying us with lies.
And we know they’re lying. We know they’re playing us. We know they’re the worst kinds of people imaginable—child-killers and grave-robbers in business suits with dead eyes and greedy, plastic smiles.
Yet this will only continue and worsen even as time goes by. The state of play will continue to decay because the fundamentals are still the same: the same centralisation of power, the same bad actors stifling change, the same charlatans like Biden and Starmer presenting the illusion of hope while acting completely against our interests.
Until we take a stand. Until we unite across significant divides. Until we refuse to let them manipulate us with their ‘Good Cop, Bad Cop’ rhetoric where the fear of one tyrant plays us straight into the hands of another.
The solution is the old solution—organisation, mobilisation, mutual aid, civil disobedience, citizen education and direct action. And while the police state has never been stronger, we have new tools at our disposal, too, in how we organise and build movements for change.
If, like me, you have an issue with prejudice, with inequality, with climate change, with imperialism, or with any of the dystopian policies being carried out across the Western world, these are all upheld by the same system that exploits and disenfranchises us all, destroys communities across the world, murders innocent people, and treats our planet as nothing more than a resource to exploit.
This is the only fight in town, and we’ve been subjected to it for years. We need to get better at fighting back.

Mislil sem, da bom prišel v tovarno botov, a sem na koncu vstopil v banalno avtobusno čakalnico, kjer nekdo smrka brez robca, drugi kiha, tretji govori po telefonu.
