🚨 Acaba de salir un reportaje explosivo detallando todo lo que estuvo detrás del fracaso de Supergirl.

The Hollywood Reporter dice que el director Craig Gillespie y el productor James Gunn tuvieron diferencias sobre el rumbo creativo de la película desde el inicio. Gunn, sabiendo que la película estaba en problemas desde el año pasado, buscó al guionista Jeremy Slater para escribir nuevas escenas para la película que fueron filmadas en regrabaciones. Entre los cambios estuvo la batalla final, la cual fue completamente reconfigurada.

Otro punto de fricción entre Gunn y Gillespie fue la música. El uso de la canción “The Middle” en el tercer acto (que ha sido ridiculizado) fue algo de último momento; en realidad era “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” en previos cortes de la película.

Llegó hasta el punto que habían dos cortes de Supergirl que fueron mandados a funciones de prueba: uno de Gillespie y otro de DC/Gunn. Aunque ninguna de las dos versiones fue bien recibida por audiencias (fue calificada similarmente a Shazam 2 y la película cancelada de Batgirl), la versión de Gunn fue la que vimos en cines

2 cuts of ‘SUPERGIRL’ were screened to test audiences — one from Craig Gillespie & one from DC Studios.

Gillespie’s version was 11 minutes longer and featured more of the villain, Krem.

The cut from DC Studios was the one chosen for release.

Gunn and Gillespie clashed a lot, his usual editor was fired for the GOTG editor. Gunn brought in Jeremy Slater for emergency rewrites.

When Gillespie’s cut started taking shape, they pulled the plug on it and DC studios ordered its own cut; the one that released.
