Day 39 as a SOC Analyst.

I’m starting to appreciate how important alert triage is.
Before jumping into an investigation, you need to quickly understand what the alert is showing, check the available context, and determine what deserves deeper analysis.
It’s not just about how many alerts you can review. It’s about prioritising the right ones and making the right call from the available evidence.
Still improving my triage process and getting faster with it.

One thing I’m starting to understand about alert investigation is that the first event is rarely the whole story when an alert comes in.

I’m learning to look at the timestamp, source, user/account, event type, and related activity before deciding what happened.

Sometimes the real work is in the events surrounding the initial detection.

Still sharpening my investigation skills and getting better at reading security events with more context.
