I was hoping you’d ask.

Mary is prophesied way back in Genesis and the OT as the Theotokos (not your errant and heretical Christotokos) and it all unfolds from there.

Our Lady was central to God’s plan of Salvation from the start.

Please consider this fraternal correction in charity and reference the two Scriptural Prayers to Our Lady at the end:

(A) Marian Typology in the Old Testament

⁃Genesis 3:15 “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed, she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.”

⁃1 Kings 2:19-20 (Solomon institutes office of Queen Mother)

⁃Psalms 45:9 “at your right hand stands the queen in gold at Ophir”

⁃Psalms 45:13 “the daughter of the king . . . with gold woven robes”

⁃Isaiah 7:14 “a virgin shall conceive and bear a son”

⁃Luke 1 (compares Mary with the Ark of the Covenant - verse 35 with Numbers 9:15, verse 44 with 2 Samuel 6:14, verse 43 with 2 Samuel 6:9, verse 56 with 2 Samuel 6:11)

(B) Mary Hailed as “Mother of Our Lord”

⁃Matthew 1:23 “virgin shall . . . bear a son . . . shall be called “Emmanuel””

⁃Luke 1:35 “child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God”

⁃Luke 1:43 “the mother of my Lord”

⁃Galatians 4:4 “God sent forth His Son, born of woman”

⁃John 19:27 “Behold your mother.”

(C) Mary As Intercessor vs

(D) Marian Assumption prefigured in OT and supported in NT

(E) Mary’s Uniqueness in Creation

⁃Genesis 3:15 (Total opposition to satan)

⁃Luke 1:42 “blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb”

⁃Luke 1:48 “behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed”

⁃Luke 2:34-35 “ 34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be contradicted;  35 And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.”

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee (Luke 1:28).

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus (Luke 1:42).

Holy Mary, Mother of God (Luke 1:43), pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death (Jas. 5:16, Apoc. 5:8, 8:3-4).

(G) The Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55):

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

@HGGamer934 @LadyLaurk Catholics do not worship Mary in any form. Prayer is not worship. It is asking something. Asking Mary and the Saints to pray for us is no different that asking friends or family to pray for you.

God commands us to Honor our Father and Mother, not worship. Same applys to mary
