The raw numbers you've shared don't tell the full story. Yes, South Africa has the largest HIV-positive population, but that's because we have the most comprehensive testing and treatment program on the continent. We test millions, we treat millions, we track our data. The majority of African countries don't test enough to even know their true numbers. A study of 28 sub-Saharan African countries found that 75% of them 21 countries have HIV testing coverage below 50% for adolescent girls and young women . In Mali, coverage is as low as 6.7% . In Western and Central Africa, HIV self-testing uptake remains at just 2% . Zambia, with a smaller population, has testing coverage at 76% higher than many countries on your list. The issue isn't that South Africa has more HIV it's that we actually look for it. We test. We treat. We don't hide. That's the difference. And that's what you refuse to acknowledge. Majority of foreigners come to South Africa to access that very HIV programme meant for South Africans.
