@AriLamm But would Reuven really have said that if the Mechira was Yakov's idea? I find this pasuk the most troubling fact when thinking about this approach. I know Rav Yoel Bin Nun addresses it but I still find it hard to reconcile.

@AriLamm I have always found this idea fascinating. The biggest question to this approach is Bereishes Perek 42 pesukim 21-23. Yosef should have known then that Yakov was not behind the mechira.
