I’ve appeared to have stirred up a hornets’ nest today. I stand by my statements that underaged boys are victims of sexual assault when they are raped/molested by female teachers or adults in positions of power and men who defend/justify this need to check their moral compasses.

Given 33,000 boys self harm (nearly 1 in 3) @childrensociety have a public duty to explain their thinking behind this tweet. It sets up an unworthy narrative minimising boys who self harm, making it harder to look out for it in boys and ultimately harder for them to come forward.

Important to realise that anyone can be a victim of #DomesticAbuse and while women are more commonly affected men can also be victims. There isn’t as much support for them and it’s something men find really hard to disclose. @malesurvivors has provided that lifeline for many.
