My BAD experience with FlySafair – I just want the refund I was promised.
On 27 June 2026, I was scheduled to fly from Zanzibar to South Africa using @FlySafair FA821 after being discharged from hospital following a life threatening medical emergency.
Before travelling to the airport, I underwent a medical assessment and was issued with a medical report confirming that I was fit to fly. I presented this report to FlySafair staff. Despite this, I was declared unfit to fly and denied boarding by @FlySafair.
Following the denied boarding, FlySafair staff in Zanzibar assured me that I qualified for either a full cash refund or FlySafair wallet credit. They also informed me that the Johannesburg office had been notified. I clearly chose the full cash refund.
After returning to South Africa and submitting my claim, FlySafair changed its position and is now offering only wallet credit.
What is even more concerning is that when I contacted the Johannesburg office, I was told there were no notes on my booking and that their system showed I had "missed my flight." This is incorrect. I did not miss my flight. I was denied boarding by FlySafair.
Every time I contacted @FlySafair, they got key details of my case wrong. They also failed to respond to my queries or return my calls. I was completely ignored throughout the process.
I have retained the medical report confirming I was fit to fly, my booking details, claim reference, and other supporting evidence.
@FlySafair, please honour the commitment made by your staff and provide the full cash refund that I was promised.
If any consumer rights organisations or members of the media would like to review the evidence, I am happy to share it.

@eNCA It is estimated that there are over 7000 languages spoken around the world. If Dada's logic is to be followed, JPMD would need to hire at least 7000 foreign nationals , and those foreign police must be present whenever a non SA is arrested, how they will smell this Dada must tell
@NEMUKULARUDZANR@KgaogeloThami @AllNewsNetwork2 Am not Venda but I agree with this logic, we should have had inclusion of all Limpopo tribes, Pedi,Tsonga and Venda all along, but we didn't
@ChickenLickenSA where are other outlets in the Western Cape, today I went to your outlet in Epping and found it closed. This is disappointing, the same experience happened in Louis Tritchard, limpopo and Thohoyandou, why do u keep on closing your outlets where ever I go?
@Vodacom your partnership with @bp_SouthAfrica is not working, I bought a BP voucher on the Vodacom app, none of the BP garages here in the Western Cape know how to redeem it, I have been in Cape Town, Paarl, Wellington, Somerset West and I can name the individual garages
