⚠️ Child sexual abuse and violence.
HE PUT VODKA IN A BABY’S BOTTLE. THEN HE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HER.
She was under one.
She was one of six children Ian Whyte abused during offending spanning two decades in Edinburgh.
The court heard he:
• Sexually abused a boy who could have been as young as four.
• Raped a girl aged nine or ten.
• Seized a girl aged 11 or 12, sexually assaulted her and repeatedly attempted to rape her.
• Gave solvents to a girl aged 13 or 14, then attempted to rape her while she was intoxicated and hit her in the face.
• Abused another girl from age six, repeatedly assaulting and raping her. He made her watch pornography, hit her in the face and repeatedly struck her body with a belt. During a rape, he covered her mouth with his hand.
The jury also learned he had previously served FOUR YEARS for other sexual assaults.
When the survivors gave evidence, he called them liars.
The judge said he showed no remorse or empathy and described his conduct as “evil, calculating and pernicious”.
On 21 October 2026, Whyte, 62, was jailed for 12 years for offences committed between 1978 and 1998.
Held in custody since his September conviction, he also received three further years of supervision after release, indefinite sex-offender registration and orders banning contact with his victims.
His sentence cannot restore their childhoods.
And a new name must NEVER mean a clean slate.
Whenever an offender leaves prison, their convictions must stay linked to every identity they use. That is why Speak For Them demands permanently connected offender records, effective monitoring and timely disclosure of risks.
His history must follow him. Children’s safety must come first.

🚨 ANIMAL SEXUAL ABUSE: AARON MAYBANK, SNODLAND, KENT
A man who repeatedly visited a riding school before being caught on CCTV sexually penetrating a male pony has admitted the offence in court.
Aaron Maybank, 35, was captured on camera at Bradbourne Riding and Driving Centre in Sevenoaks on July 5, after staff installed CCTV over concerns about what was happening to the animals.
The court heard his visits stretched back months, with earlier incidents recorded on April 9, May 14 and June 15.
Prosecutor Roisin Massey told Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court that staff had installed the cameras after noticing his concerning behaviour.
When questioned by police, Maybank reportedly said he had “no idea why he did it”.
He pleaded guilty on October 13 to sexual penetration by a person with a living animal.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report before deciding his punishment. He remains on bail and is due back at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2027.
⚖️ Maybank has yet to be sentenced.

🚨 ANIMAL CRUELTY CONVICTION: SCOTT O’SHEA, PAIGNTON, DEVON — KILLED CHIHUAHUA KILO IN A BRUTAL ATTACK, THEN LEFT HIS BODY ON HIS EX-PARTNER’S DOORSTEP
Scott O’Shea, 51, killed tiny Chihuahua Kilo by smashing his skull against the walls of a lounge, causing catastrophic head injuries.
He then put the dog’s bloodied body in a carrier bag, left it on his ex-partner’s doorstep and told her: “The dog’s in the bag.”
The attack happened on 9 January 2026. O’Shea had refused to let his former partner take Kilo to safety during a dispute, forcing her to flee to a neighbour’s home. Later that night, he tracked her down and delivered the bag.
A post-mortem revealed a shattered skull, a swollen brain and blood in Kilo’s ears, nose and throat. The findings indicated that his death was not instantaneous.
O’Shea, already serving three years in prison for arson and assaulting police officers, pleaded guilty to an animal welfare offence following an RSPCA investigation.
The judge described the killing as cruel, deliberate and sadistic.
⚖️ SENTENCE:
🔴 14 weeks’ imprisonment, consecutive to his existing sentence.
🔴 Lifetime ban on keeping animals, with the right to apply to have it lifted after 15 years.
RSPCA Inspector Sarah Morris described it as the vicious, frenzied and sadistic killing of a much-loved, healthy dog.
Kilo deserved protection. Instead, he suffered a horrific death at the hands of the person responsible for his care.
