I just saw a comment on tiktok of a lady saying that she was preparing for a funeral and things were not going well, she was frustrated and overwhelmed so she took out her phone to call her mom because that’s what she used to do, calling her mom whenever things aren’t going right, only for her mom’s phone to ring in her pocket. That’s when reality kicked in and realised that it’s actually her mom’s funeral she’s preparing. That broke me 😭😭
Father, we stand against every force of darkness behind the violence and loss of life in our community. Let every evil scheme be exposed, stopped & brought to nothing. Bring comfort to every family mourning a loved one. Strengthen those who are afraid & heal the traumatised.
As the police struggle to allocate resources to finding this killer, I want you guys to remember that the government suddenly had R600m on hand to fight xenophobia.
As a man let me say it plain. Most men ain't sitting there thinking how they can play with good love. They panic when it land in they lap. You bring peace to his house and he start picking fights, going cold, blaming stress, blaming work, blaming timing, anything but himself. He ain't scared you love him. He scared love gonna ask him to become a man he never had to be before. So instead of growing into it, he burns it down and call it bad timing.
Sometimes the biggest hearts belong to the most unexpected heroes. A touching moment where a dog helps tiny ducklings cross safely through a drain. 🐶🦆✨
You have to learn the person you love.
You cannot love someone into being who you need them to be. You cannot assume you know them just because you feel deeply for them. You have to study them. You have to understand their personality, their wounds, their attachment style, their triggers, their unspoken fears, their love language, the way they process pain and joy and conflict. I learned this the hard way, by loving people I never truly took the time to know. I projected my own expectations onto them. I assumed they thought like me, needed like me, loved like me. And when they did not meet my unspoken expectations, I blamed them instead of realizing that I never actually learned who they were. That lesson cost me relationships. It cost me misunderstandings that could have been avoided. It cost me the pain of being in love with a version of someone that never really existed. But it also taught me that love is not just a feeling. It is a study. It is a commitment to truly knowing the person you claim to love. Not the idea of them. Not the potential of them. But the real, complex, flawed, beautiful human being standing in front of you. And once you learn them, you can truly love them. Not as a projection. But as a person.
I've lost people I never thought I'd survive without & I'm still here. It's crazy how resilient & adaptive we are as human beings. You can survive anything! It'll hurt, but you're gonna be fine
