Hot take: beaching whales and dolphins are the Columbuses and Magellans of the animal world, breaching the final frontiers and pushing evolution. Fight me on this. 😜
So, @profgalloway suggesting to pay $1M to congress(wo)men is genius.
MTG wouldn’t even get elected in the first place, due to the significantly increased appeal of the job. @karaswisher
Putting $$$ into politics like that, is the best way of taking $$$ out of politics. ❤️
So, @karaswisher - I’d love to hear from an (independent!) medical professional on the @PivotPod to weigh the economic benefit against the potential health risks of long-term drug consumption.
Incl. risk of shortages for people who ACTUALLY need the drug (e.g. Diabetes)…
There are very few studies on the effects of long-term GLP-1 drug consumption… but some suggestions include higher risk of thyroid cancer.
U.S. consumers generally seem too quick grasping for drugs to solve even minor inconveniences.
That’s likely due to an under-regulated…
…market environment, conducive to the drugs manufacturing & distribution industrial complex:
- few / ineffective restrictions on advertising
- ineffective / overwhelmed FDA
- docs incentivized to sell (more) drugs to (more) patients
It’s reminiscent of the OxyContin story…
Hey @karaswisher & @profgalloway - re: Ozempic:
It’s weird to see you promote long-term consumption of drugs that treat symptoms, rather than root causes.
I’d agree that such a proposition will bring significant growth to the U.S. economy.
But is it a smart proposition?
@VikkiRossWrites@michaelmiraflor I’ve had the pleasure to lead very diverse teams.
And I’ve led less diverse teams.
The brutal truth is that non-diverse teams still take time to change.
You can’t forbid these teams to feel like they belong.
No matter how homogeneous they are.
