Ascended Heroes Booster pack prices are getting a bit ridiculous.
It's creating a nice lower high structure here though. I would imagine with the 2nd wave of Booster Bundles imbound and a release of some sort of retail bundle. Pack prices should come down.
Yet again..Pokemon has STILL not released Wave 2 of Perfect Order Booster Boxes.
It's getting ridiculous at this point. Their production capacity limits are clearly beyond stressed.
Maybe their printers could also just be dedicated right now to printing as much 30th Anniversary as possible.
in september 1996, a month before the Pokemon TCG existed, Bandai released the first ever Pokemon cards
they were called Carddass and you couldn't play with them
they were just informational cards sold through vending machines in Japan
around 309 cards total across part 1 and part 2, released over the following two months
but here's what people outside Japan mostly don't know:
the cards mirrored the gameboy games and each Pokemon had a Red and Green Version print, with different colored backgrounds
and if a Pokemon could only evolve through trading, like Gengar or Alakazam, the cards literally said "EXCHANGED" right on the front
that was a trading mechanic from the video games, baked into the cards themselves, before the TCG even launched
what's the oldest Pokemon card in your collection?
in August 1997, Japan Railways East launched a Pokemon Stamp Rally
the requirement was to travel to 30 stations on Tokyo's Yamanote line in 2 days
the mission was to collect a unique stamp at each station and complete the entire stamp book before the deadline
the event ran for 9 days only
all 100,000 reserve tickets sold out in advance
complete the rally and you received a 2-card booklet: a Surfing Pikachu by Toshinao Aoki and a Mew by Ken Sugimori
the Surfing Pikachu shows Mt. Fuji and a train in the background, as a record of what those kids saw out the train windows
