The arrest of PTM Central Committee member @ZubairShahAgha1 under the draconian 3 MPO law is yet another example of how preventive detention continues to be used to silence peaceful political activism in Pakistan. Laws meant for exceptional circumstances must not become tools to suppress democratic dissent.

We call for the immediate release of Zubair Shah Agha and an end to the misuse of preventive detention against peaceful political voices.

A transparent, impartial investigation is essential—not only to deliver justice for the victims but also to strengthen public trust in state institutions. Listening to grieving families is a responsibility, not a concession.

Justice is the foundation of lasting peace.
