we’re entering a weird time in tech

it’s never been easier for a junior dev to build something real

and somehow never been harder to get hired to build something

the hard part is becoming knowing what to build and whether what got built is actually right

judgment is the new bottleneck

the irony is we spent years trying to remove the frustrating parts of coding

then realized some of those frustrating parts were what made it satisfying

job applications are becoming spam

AI makes it basically free to apply to 500 jobs

so companies add more filters

so people apply to even more jobs

and now great devs can’t get interviews while companies say they can’t find great devs

it’s that you can now build the wrong thing incredibly fast

the resume is becoming a weird artifact

when anyone can generate the perfect resume for any job in 30 seconds, it tells you less and less about the person

proof of work, reputation and who can vouch for you are about to matter a lot more

funny how everyone thought the hard part of agents would be intelligence

turns out it’s permissions, context, reliability, integrations, evals, edge cases…

and getting the thing to do absolutely nothing when it shouldn’t

one question i keep thinking about for SaaS:

if you rebuilt your product from scratch around agents, how much of the UI would you still need?

maybe the biggest AI opportunity isn’t adding more features

it’s removing them

living in europe made me appreciate brazilian engineers in a different way

there’s this ability to deal with uncertainty, make things work and keep moving

you don’t really notice it when you’re surrounded by it

you notice it when you leave.
