After decades of medical gaslighting, hope for ME/CFS must come from biomedical research, funded treatment trials, and better medical education—not unproven belief reframing.

People, you do know that if the Private Healthcare increases, Doctors won’t be out of work & will no doubt be paid better
Why are they fighting for the #NHS whilst MPs & Corporates look to make money
Because they want Healthcare for everyone, understand the need & actually care
@CPJMEdinburgh I still remember many of the lessons I learned while working as your SHO in RVH a few (I’ll not be specific as to how many as my growing number of grey hairs says enough!) years ago 😊
The BMA’s @DrLatifaPatel is among the signatories of a letter from @UKHealthClimate to prime minister @RishiSunak calling for the new licences for North Sea oil and gas to be withdrawn.

I’m sad to say that IMHO, every NHS oncologist in any of the devolved nations of the United Kingdom will relate to this. This genuinely reflects the issues currently going on within NHS cancer services. Beautifully and eloquently described by @lucygoss. #NHS75@SteveBarclay
I defy anyone to read this extraordinarily candid, harrowing & heartbreaking account of the truth of a crippled NHS oncology system & not burn with rage for how this government has decimated the NHS & failed NHS patients.
Please, please read & share 😔

Decisions taken to end the universal wearing of face masks in hospitals and doctors’ surgeries are placing patients and staff at greater risk of covid infection, a group of healthcare workers in Scotland who are affected by long covid says @ScotHWCoalition https://t.co/r3njRgKTS5
1. Tomorrow i will be supporting the NHS #ConsultantsStrike
About Me:
➡️ I am a cardiology consultant / professor @UHNM_NHS
➡️ i was from a working class background, i went to a state comprehensive. My dad left school at 16, mum at 12. I am the first / only member of my family to receive a higher education. I received a student grant to go to @UniofOxford. I left med school with little debt.
I could not afford to train as a doctor now.
The Consultants of Dorset hospital have written a letter to @SteveBarclay
They strike tomorrow
This letter is incredible
I challenge anyone to refute a single point in it
Worth a read for you too @wesstreeting
Finally a report that communicates how serious #longcovid is. For those who’ve been told to just get on with it/it’s probably just anxiety/try harder, this will feel like validation. Show it to everyone who didn’t listen to you. @ucl@UniofExeter@long_covid
Our latest workforce censuses revealed that in almost all UK cancer centres, patients’ treatment was delayed due to staff shortages.
There simply aren't enough doctors to safely treat the volume of patients. This will only worsen as demand rises and more doctors leave the NHS.
Long Covid is basically general tiredness right?
Well...
Long Covid fatigue affects quality of life more than some cancers.
Here's how much the illness affects your day to day:
[🧵 thread]
Despite doctors’ best attempts to deliver effective patient care, the position remains precarious.
Insufficient staffing levels are causing longer waiting times for appointments and cancer treatment delivery.
Read our 2022 clinical oncology census: https://t.co/Kj0ufesXeF
Not a surprise to anyone who’s had their life blown to bits for the last 3 years.
But great to see it studied/reported in these stark terms. Comparison one of our best tools given how difficult it is for healthy people to get their heads round it.
