Sin is not where people are weak but are trying, but where people are strong and not bothering.
For Jesus, sin is a failure to bother to love.

@CinemaShogun@lolobalii he had 3.5 decades of history asking questions about his own life and experience. he literally said he’s been treated like this for years. damn son, you smelly
and also, don’t do something simply because a sorry excuse for a man tells you to do something. encourage your wives to think for themselves and do the same for yourself.
classic abuse of spiritual authority - if women begin to ask the right questions, something is wrong with them spiritually, seen it countless times in these circles - men, why not engage with your wives? why not live with them in an understanding way by listening intentionally?
Christian men, if your wife is listening to Candace Owens, you have an important and difficult task ahead of you as spiritual head of the home.
The scriptures tell husbands to love their wives as “Christ loved the Church, and gave himself for her, washing her with the water of the Word, that he may present her holy and blameless.”
Your wife’s spiritual health is your responsibility, and it’s your job to protect her from influences that will rot her soul from the inside out. Find what scripture says about slander, false witness, gossip, and backbiting. Find verses about the importance of filling your mind and heart and mind with truth, goodness, purity, and God’s Word.
Talk to her about why she shouldn’t be spending time listening to Candace Owens, even as “mindless entertainment.” Same goes for smut novels, soap operas, TikTok, and the like. Do this gently and lovingly. Never be harsh.
Point her to alternate resources that will uplift and encourage her in the Lord. Get some recommendations from your pastor. Allie Beth Stuckey also comes to mind as a solid biblical resource for women. My wife loves listening to Allie and I would highly recommend her.
This is a real problem right now. Don’t let your wife’s soul languish under a torrent of gossip and smut.
the funny thing is i think that many of us were already feeling and saying what candace owens was broadcasting - so she’s more of a mouthpiece for the people than someone shilling out evidence - she’s asking the questions we’re all asking and demanding sensible answers.
to be holy is not to have attained some divine moral essence.
to be holy is what it means to be human. not perfect, but whole.
fulfilled.
still enamored with the goodness and beauty of life.
this kind of life is the truth jesus embodied and invites us into.
‘sin’ has been broadly understood within protestantism as individual acts (or one Initial Act) that then severs the relationship between man and god.
this puts man in a disposition of powerlessness, where utter submission is the only acceptable form of obedience.
unless that king be a loving father whose power is experienced as a way of love, not dominion.
this is the perfection we are called to in matthew 5:48 - our morality does not lie within our obedience to tradition or authority, but within the intrinsic wholeness we embody.
