@realrepayne@pastors4txkids @DinahMillerTX By your own metrics, the top states have the strongest public schools. The worst states have “competition”. lol. Too bad people like you in Texas can’t make a better public education system. What makes you think you can make a privatized system.
@MrDanielBuck You’ll probably not respond, because you normally just transmit, but PD used to be great before everything became about “refomy nonses” of high stakes testing, over emphasis on “standards”, and scapegoating teachers and leadership for “performance”.
@FavoriteTeach11 It’s funny. I live in the suburbs. It doesn’t hurt our “high performing kids” to go to school with “low performing kids”. Why not just put great public schools, with awesome extracurriculars, in every neighborhood and call it a day?
@sage_stage We’ve never actually done that. Both suspension rates and graduation rates are related to poverty. Plain and simple. We’ve scapegoated teachers and district leadership and threatened their livelihoods. Only thing they could do is game the system that was set up to game them.
@AnandWrites No. Fascism can morph itself into any political party or ideology. I’m not quite sure what your trying to say here, but it sound like you believe that if fascism is inevitable, your fascism would be better than their fascism. But I digress, I have no ideas here.
@whileursilent@DeAngelisCorey Who is “they”? The “they” is you. Your public school is yours. If it sucks, it’s your fault. If it’s under resourced because it exists in a low income neighborhood then it’s all of our fault for allowing the concentration of poverty in one place. Stop being a baby.
@DeAngelisCorey 1990 called and wants its education policy back. It failed then, and it will fail now. Corey is just the latest think tank wannabe paid by school privatization lobbies. Obscene. It’s not happening.
@DeAngelisCorey@VivekGRamaswamy@FoxNews Do you have to pay someone royalties every time you use the phrase “civil rights issue of our time”? I’m pretty sure hat was copyrighted by loser reformers from the 90’s.
@matt_barnum During my 28 year career so far I have watched “education journalism” ignore the warnings of real practitioners towards poor education policy (reformers=reformers). Their conclusion? Kids learn in school. 🙄
@DavidSchoeps@Newsday Prove that it goes up every year, cuz it doesn’t. By Cadillac health insurance, you mean she gets the same health she gets now and has to pay a portion of it until she goes on Medicare in 10 years. LI taxes are high because home $$ are high. Public servants need homes too.
@DavidSchoeps@Newsday You are wrong. The pension does not increase. Current tier penalizes you if you retire before 63 years of age. Do some research: https://t.co/LRQC9gyPvA
@ksdenison@newsobserver Doesn’t work that way Ken. You have to get involved. Otherwise how do you know if the public good, whatever one we are talking about, has too much or too little resources? If you don’t get involved, how do you know if you’re just comparing apples to oranges? Blaming is lazy.
@ksdenison@newsobserver Guess you don’t understand the public part. Get off your ass ken and make your park better. Go speak with the people YOU hired, to spend YOUR tax dollars to find out what needs to be done. It’s your park after all. If it sucks, it’s your fault.
