Any #ableg commentators or media following the very regrettable departure of MLA Shannon Phillips must watch this statement.
She deserves much better. Our democracy deserves much better. We all deserve must better and we won’t get it until we fix police accountability.
NEWS: Alberta’s superior court is being asked to review the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision not to prosecute the EPS officer who kicked him in the head. https://t.co/P0hkAn3GvX
@TomEngel18@DMMcFee@YEG_Commission So to be clear, an officer can shoot to kill an unarmed man just man walking the street, can commit aggravated assault on an unarmed boy laying on the ground, can asphyxiate an unarmed man in need of mental health help, and that doesnt lead to any suspension with or w/out pay?!
I wonder why Bill Clark & Dan Behiels are suspended without pay when only under investigation but Alex Doduk, who has been criminally charged, is off with pay. Is it because Clark & Behiels are critics of @DMMcFee?

1. Another perverse decision not to prosecute cops when @asirt concludes an offence was committed. As usual, the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service hides behind a questionable claim of privilege, which it can waive, refusing to reveal its written ...

I illustrate the #DoubleStandards with a recent Edmonton example (by the way, the Crown named in this is married to a former EPS cop):

In the month of February, I tried to help 86 persons. I drove 2100KM. I made 24 house calls, supporting persons in conflict with the Child Welfare system and justice system, as well as embolding clients to have enhanced services and positive outcomes within the education and health care systems. I gave out phones, diapers, pregnancy sticks. I paid some folks rent, as well, helped with food and over the counter medicine. #MyWorkStats

This mom I have been helping since she was 14 and testified against her pimp. She is in pretty rough shape if anybody wants to help me as I don't have the funds or resources to cover this one.
It is troubling that the Crown continues its position in direct conflict with ASIRT's finding that police used criminal violence against this #indigenous man. The basic tenets of #TruthAndReconciliation are accountability and transparency. Is it just a slogan? #justiceforpacey
Banger letter in the Journal from a former police officer.
Has anyone heard from @mickeyamery if he supports the ruling of the Law Enforcement Review Board or if not, what action will be taken to restore public trust? #ableg
