They are doing these samples by doing seasonal water-pan samples to test for excess algal growth.

This thread goes out to Liza as she requested more information on how algal blooms are affecting the elephant population.

In my last essay, I talked about why the elephant species was dying off. One reason I mentioned was algal blooms.

Now that scientists know this is occurring, they are monitoring the water by doing samples of the affected areas.
