@AP What about the 100's of 1,000's of "starving and scared" Nepali toddlers who for decades have been brutally forced into child trafficking? What about the "starving and scared" Nepali families tricked into selling their children into child trafficking, never to see them again? Have you ever reported on them?

My journey to fight child trafficking began 25 years ago in India when I took this photo of a window with cages (you can see the bars) holding 4 and 5 year-old Nepali girls smuggled across the border from Nepal into India, held in the cages for 30 days while they were tortured, starved, and beaten so they no longer had a will to rebel. Only then were they "fit" to be child sex slaves.

That was 25 years ago. And the situation hasn't changed.

I'm truly sorry for the 100 LGBTQ+ aid workers left jobless by the funding cuts who had to turn to sex work, but at the same time let's not forget about the mere toddlers who've been forced into it for decades. The ones in this photo have long since died, but maybe we can do something about the others who are hanging on by a thread.

In just 16 months, FBI-led OPERATION BLACKOUT has delivered:

• $15.2 BILLION seized
• Hundreds of criminals arrested
• Dozens of scam centers dismantled
• Multiple human trafficking compounds eliminated

Major operations include:

Operation Zephyr Exodus — The takedown of the Prince Group in Cambodia, resulting in the seizure of a record 127,000 Bitcoin (worth approximately $15 billion at the time), the largest seizure in U.S. history.

Operation Sand Dollar — The largest FBI-led scam center takedown in history: 9 scam compounds dismantled, more than 300 arrests, $300 million seized, thousands of electronic devices seized, and thousands of trafficked workers freed through a joint operation with the Dubai Police and China’s Ministry of Public Security.

Operation Compound Fracture — Domains and malicious apps seized, plus a $10 million reward offered for information on the Tai Chang scam compound.

Shunda Compound Takedown — Joint FBI-Thai operation that led to arrests, disrupted a network responsible for hundreds of millions in victim losses, and included the first-ever seizure of a Telegram channel.

This is what taking the fight directly to transnational criminal organizations looks like.
