@QKatara94241 the most deserving one line review one could dream of! (pun intended)
and since we know there'll be crickets when it comes to noms, I hope we'll soon at least see projects creating opportunities for his talent ๐ซ
@collectortreas1 that's such an interesting observation! Never thought of that, yet it is so true ๐ค Dream is a really gem of a character - wish we got more of him....
@deloftheendless ...why don't we get S3 with Daniel learning the craft and going too far (cause who knew that holding collective unconsciousness is hard๐ซ ) and messing up smth so bad he has to bring Morpheus back (like Gilbert suggested he technically could) and so S4 story writes itself ๐
@deloftheendless unpopular opinion here, but as someone who discovered Sandman just before S1 dropped and loved show more than comics, I would LOVE them to leave source behind and embark on new stories with characters they built and re-imagined in the show! and while we are on the subject...
@deloftheendless I do think it was no coincidence that we saw Morpheus in this scene so outside his normal gloomy self while in the company of Delirium: it's like this brief episode of hope was nothing but delirious illusion...and deep down he knew it๐ฅบ
@jaskiergerqlt It's a friendly family intervention, aka 'Brother, it's about time you eat some fruit. We're concerned about your fiber intake' - that's all ๐๐ซ ๐
@deloftheendless @Strifegirl_lp @Hel_Niflheim housewarming party! ๐คช but can someone remind me where/how does family (re)union with D happen in the books? I think trauma still blocks post reincarnation memories for me...
@endlessnightdr Morpheus to Shakespeare : 'I wanted a tale of graceful ends.
But why?' Shakespeare asks.
Because I will never leave my island.
You live on an island?
I am. In my fashion - An Island...
But that can change. All men can change.
I am not a man
But...
And I do not change.๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
@endlessnightdr I'm curious how they'll play this out... In show's timeline Daniel is still a baby (not even a boy), as we saw when Dream went to visit him before his journey to hell, and there wasn't any time passage since (unlike books) ๐ค and now mysterious Johanna's role...
@Frrozu also, I think the series is masterfully elevating the story overall, giving it new depths (think about fatherhood motive) and presenting it in today's world (Nuala's arc, for instance) so it would have been awesome to see a different ending indeed!
@Frrozu alas... I agree and honestly think it's a rare case of misstep by show's creator: instead of building on excellent foundations laid in Dream's arc in the series and giving it a fitting reinvention, they chose to be to rigidly attached to source material
@AshWHurst while I personally love the idea, based on Heinberg's interview where he details the ending - I wouldn't hold my breath for any changes in that regard ๐ข
Allan Heinberg teases Dream in Season 2 Volume 2 (@THR):
โBy the end of the season, heโs so authentically himself.. heโs so raw and so naked, and so the opposite of who we met at the beginning of season one. I donโt want to spoil anything for you, but it is profoundly moving.โ
