On Tuesday, Cath Labs co-hosted a live webinar with colleagues from @HospitalUVRocio Spain as part of a live case event with @Medtronic - The PCI procedure was led by Dr John Hung, Dr Liam Mullen & their team who provided an excellent result for the patient. #NHS
Spotify launched TimeToPlayFair. com
He exposed Apple's practices to the world:
- Rejected app updates 12 times
- Spotify blocking on HomePod
- Prevented Siri integration
- Restricted user communications
The tech world was stunned by his audacity.
Mohammed Qahtani won the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. It’s easy to see why.
Please watch his speech. Words have power. Words can be our power. Words can unite or divide. Words can spit venom or can mend a broken soul. Words matter.
This is Glen Mills.
The man behind Usaine Bolt's world records.
He taught Bolt a technique that made him the fastest man of all time...
Here's the technique:
Ahead of the general election, we’ve published our manifesto, ‘Anaesthesia: solutions for an NHS in crisis.’
🧵 We’re calling on political parties to:
▪️ Urgently fund more places for doctors to train as anaesthetists, as part of a wider plan for specialty training.
LHCH is delighted to announce the official opening of our re-developed Catheter Laboratories (Cath Labs) will be taking place this Friday. 👏
Hear Dr Nick Palmer talk about the benefits this will have for our patients, staff and the world class care we have to offer.

PAs at Reading only need 40% to pass their exams and 30% to pass a module. Some of finals exams questions posted online could be passed by most members of the public.
In my professional career I have never seen such mediocre standards to "pass" exams.
This is not about being "kind" or being "part of the team" - this is about mediocrity and low standards and the risk to patient safety .
Patients deserve better and should expect better of their healthcare professionals.
🚨 It's crazy that the NHS has told 350 doctors training in anaesthesia that the NHS has no job for them after 3 years training.
At the same time we have massive shortages of, you guessed it, anaesthetists. These self-defeating bottlenecks defy logic. Statement from @RCoANews
Trainees are our future.
We must prioritise training opportunities for specialist trainees and ensure trainers have time to supervise them. The training of other healthcare workers cannot compromise the training of current/future doctors.

Move in Parliament to rename Anaesthesia and Physician Associates back to the correct and more appropriate title of Assistants.
Has your MP signed it yet?

Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh have nicely defined the role of PAs.
Phlebotomy, performing simple procedures such as ECG recording, test ordering, and results checking.
Hopefully this will be accepted by three other Colleges too.

1. I'm a consultant interventional Cardiology that has performed thousands of interventional procedures in patients with heart attacks . Similar procedures are performed in patients with strokes but there are not enough people to deliver these- so patients die or are left with lifelong disabilities.
We are being blocked as Cardiologists doing these life-saving procedures in patients with strokes because we apparently lack training 😳 🙄but PAs with no medical training and a two year masters can be trained in interventional radiology 😳
This is an absolute crazy situation on two counts- that PAs with no medical training are advising doctors as the "on call paediatrician " 😳 and that if doctors follow this advice they are legally responsible.
I think if faced with such a situation doctors should ask to speak to the consultant on-call. Children's lives should not be being put at risk like this.
Did you know the word ‘junior’ in Junior Doctor doesn’t mean young or unqualified
It’s simply the term for any doctor who is not yet a consultant or experienced GP
That includes this 40 year old who’s been a doctor for over 10 years
Please RT if you think everyone should know
MPs are in line to receive an above inflation pay rise of 7.1%
Yet the government don’t think junior doctors deserve more than 6%, despite a decade of real terms pay cuts
Please RT if you agree health workers deserve so much better
