@EhrgU#ENGL301 Maybe instead of posting about who they hire, they should post about what they do as a business and how they show up as a company in their industry. This will attract the “talent” they want without outright demanding it.
@EhrgU#ENGL301 I think it’s a great initiative. I wouldn’t have expected a peanut butter company to pilot this, but I still appreciate the coverage of an important topic - regardless of who it’s from.
@EhrgU#engl301 I’d say a short statement will come out in the next few days stating “the fire is out, no one is hurt, and the teams are recovering as much as possible so it can re-enter into the global supply chain.” Maybe a general boating safety reminder will follow too.
@EhrgU#engl301 knowing your audience should truly mean knowing your audience. What choices they make, what their views are on topics or subjects. Far too often, companies create an audience that “magically” checks all the boxes of the demographic they’re looking for.
@EhrgU#engl301 I think it helps to think of it as guiding someone to understand what your point of view is on the topic. Persuasion can be very effective if you find things you both commonly agree on and go from there. There is definitely a level of professionalism in this practice!
@EhrgU#engl301 memos should never go out of use! They show a permanent reminder whereas an email can get lost at the bottom of an inbox so easily. Memos can reach a larger amount of people and help the information “stick” better than an email.
@EhrgU#engl301 PLAIN Canada is an important community that is raising awareness for accessible and understandable information, this is important in regions that have varying intellectual levels. It is a step towards equity - by giving everyone the same information in different ways.
@EhrgU#engl301 The editing step I never skip is reading my work out loud! Listening to my own voice when in editing mode helps me to make adjustments to tone, grammar, and structure.
