During the 2024 fire season, there were 480 wildland fires confirmed in the province of Ontario. Of these, 262 were confirmed in the Northeast Region and 218 in the Northwest Region. The largest fire was RED014, and it measured 18,704.7 hectares.

Ontario is responding to a request from our wildland fire management partners in BC. The province has sent a contingent of 104 FireRangers and an 17-person Incident Management Team, along with 14 overhead staff, to support @BCGovFireInfo with an escalated wildland fire situation.
