Nebraska football summed up in one pic: After going 7-5 against the 15th (of 18 teams) easiest schedule in the B10 this year, the coach scolded fans with the following: "It's better than it was."
I-O-W-A chant echoing through memorial stadium....
Don’t take these wins for granted, Hawkeye friends.
It doesn’t take much for a program in our region to fall off. Just look at Nebraska or Wisconsin.
Kirk Ferentz is a consistent winner. 8+ wins in each of last 10 full seasons. We’re lucky to have him.
You’re not gonna like it but here it is.
Iowa is a better football program from top to bottom.
They’re fundamentally superior and they do it with less.
Maybe we stop making fun of them and start replicating some of the things they do well???
That’ll do it in Lincoln.
Nebraska media really played this up as a key barometer for Rhule all week, so it’ll be interesting to see how they treat him from here. But no big year three bump for first time in his college coaching career. His team is still too soft and too dumb.
Iowa has scored 40 points or more in Wins 7x the past 25 games.
That’s more often than:
• Auburn
• Florida
• Florida St
• Houston
• Illinois
• Kansas St
• Louisville
• Michigan
• Michigan St
• Minnesota
• Nebraska
• Oklahoma
• Penn St
• South Carolina
• Washington
I’ll stop there (but there’s more)
Some of the young Hawkeyes who stood out today at Nebraska:
RB Kamari Moulton (soph.)
RB Nathan McNeil (fresh.)
WR Reece Vander Zee (soph.)
TE DJ Vonnahme (fresh.)
DB Zach Lutmer (soph.)
DB Jaylen Watson (soph.)
DB Rashad Godfrey Jr. (fresh.)
DB Jacob Wallace (fresh.)
As a non-Hawkeye fan, I have to say:
Husker fans, I can’t express how much enjoyment I get out of seeing you lose these games year after year.
You’re truly the easiest team to root against.
“Enjoy the wins now because we’re coming back”… lol I’ve been hearing that from the Huskers for over a decade. I won’t hold my breath.
