One last thought on Officiating. Why would anybody do this job at any level? Go to a Little League game, AAU tournament or a high school game and parents & fans are complete idiots. (Yeah, you👀)

@brentblum @ChrisMWilliams Late 90s saw them in concert. Kenny Chesney was the opener.

Summer AAU/Club sports are great but there is something special about student-athletes competing against rival schools, in front of a crowd of community members, friends, and family, after attending classes all day, while playing alongside teammates who are also their classmates.

A ton of talk about officiating on here tonight. With all the interest judgement and rules interpretation, why is there a shortage of officials in Iowa and across the country? Message me and let me help you get started!

[Nate Brown @natesportsguy]

Watched a High School aged girl officiate a youth game today. She had to eject an adult fan that was yelling...and she handled it really well.

Then I found out she quit and didn't come back for the next game.

Adults...What are we doing???

Great job @timmoses68 and crew at East High hosting the 3A-4 boys substate tonight!

Thanks @charlescityffa for the awesome gift for #NationalFFAWeek One of the top chapters in the state and nation!

So on a special night for girls' wrestlers in Iowa, it is extra special for Charles City's Lilly Luft.

Ember Henderson of Louisville, Ky is in attendance to watch Luft compete in 130 finals.

Henderson, now 13, received Lilly's brother Logan's heart when she was seven #iahswr

If you can’t go to a Middle School basketball game and not yell at the girls who are running the clock/scoreboard, usually the grade who isnt playing, or yell at the officials, usually new officials or retired ones, should you really be going?

Unfortunate sign of the times. Wednesday's Baseball game between 4A #6 Cedar Falls and 3A #1 Dubuque Wahlert will be postponed to a later date because no umpires to do the game.

[Justin @justinjacobs__]

@patrickmccaff22 @jeje66 @MarkFreundTV The entitlement is real!

[Andy Parke @adparke]

Next time you want to yell at an umpire this summer save it! HS games are being cancelled all the time because they can’t get umpires. The kids and the umpires deserve better!

[Linn-Mar Athletics @LMHS_Athletics]

Umpire shortage is VERY REAL! Baseball games started last night and we are possibly on our way to postponing our 2nd night in a row for our Soph baseball team because we do not have enough umpires! Please consider getting certified so our teams can play! @LMLionBaseball
