@timothyives They can hardly be described as independent, they opposed brexit from the start so will aleays be susceptible to confirmation bias.
Im not saying they're wrong, i'm just inured to anything i read in the Grauniad saying brexit is responsible for all that is wrong in the world.

@timothyives Presumably food imported from outside the EU is subject to the same checks we did before we left? Why would Brexit affect the checks we do on non-EU imports?

@timothyives Why not ask your original question of Angela Merkel? As of today Germany had half the UK cases but more than double the positive test rate. So if you normalise for tests carried out Germany are currently worse than UK.
Admittedly it’s just a snapshot but all headlines are!
