People will drive to be under leadership that they trust, a vision they believe in, and doctrine that they align with.
Not to mention relationships with others in the community, whether or not they extended Family also in that church, if they grew up in that church or have some type of healthy loyalty to the leadership of that church, and etc.
I would say that most people who travel more than 30 minutes to attend a church typically do have a pretty good reason to do so. Traveling a long distance is not typically a person’s first choice for anything.

@Argenpoirot This happened to me once. Athletics awards ceremony freshman year of HS. Coach put me there because I was dressed well. Mortifying experience.
@anymanfitness There are plenty of ways to be social, interact & find a spouse in a wholesome environment. The church is great place for that. Less drinking doesn’t mean these things are dying, it simply means it’s happening elsewhere.
