My way of following the zETH experiment:
First, watch how the community shapes supply.
Then, watch how ownership develops once trading begins.
Those are separate things worth measuring.
@zerufinance is giving Ethereum activity a role in the first part through the supply countdown. That makes the launch process itself worth following, well before there is a price chart to discuss.
The encouraging part is having a concrete mechanism to evaluate. Participation can influence the starting supply, while the eventual holder distribution will tell its own story.
Bữa trưa nhanh gọn với tô bánh canh nóng giúp nạp đầy năng lượng cho buổi chiều.
Tuy nhiên, nếu dùng bữa quá vội vàng, hệ tiêu hóa có thể gặp áp lực lớn vào đầu giờ chiều.
A name, ticker and image can all be copied.
The research highlighted here found roughly one in ten Pumpfun coins duplicated another coin's core metadata. Branding alone becomes a pretty thin foundation in that environment.
What gives @zerufinance's approach more substance for me is the community underneath it. Zaps describes participants choosing the name and art, with an existing onchain economy behind the market.
That creates room for an identity people can help develop together. The artwork can tell a story that already has participants and history behind it.
Imagine an Ethereum user who has been swapping, supplying liquidity and using protocols long before a new token appears.
That person already belongs to an economic community. Their participation has a history, even without a ticker attached to it.
This is the part of @zerufinance's Activity Markets that clicks for me: an existing community provides the starting point for a token.
With zETH, Ethereum activity helps shape supply. The story has roots before launch day, giving participants a shared history to build around as the market develops.
Three questions this post puts on my launch checklist:
1. How many addresses are involved?
2. How are those addresses funded?
3. What actually qualifies as contribution?
In the cited research, the top 1% of funding-linked creator clusters produced roughly 53–59% of coins, depending on the clustering method.
That context makes @zerufinance's approach worth examining. Zaps says wallets sharing a funding source are filtered together.
For an activity-based launch, the rules for recognising contribution are a central part of the product. Those rules deserve as much attention as the leaderboard.
Millions of launches can make a market look much more diverse than it really is.
The research shared by @zerufinance found that roughly 1% of Pumpfun creator addresses produced 39% of its coins. That makes the endless stream of new tickers look very different.
For me, zETH introduces a more interesting experiment: letting Ethereum community activity influence how much supply remains.
It gives participants something concrete to shape before trading begins. A launch becomes more interesting when the community has a role in its starting conditions.
