@nathanafinn Bob Feller - it was my dad’s old fielding glove, and we got to meet him at a local C-team game. He didn’t want to sign anything, but my dad had a way of convincing people…
as parents if we don’t make church a priority for our kids now, then we can’t be shocked when it’s still not a priority for them when they become adults.
"Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, but much revenue comes by the strength of the ox." (Proverbs 14:4)
Life is messy and painful. But a life without pain is a life without growth, without love, without support, without friends.
Embrace the mess. It's where beauty lies.
If you're a parent and you feel like you are failing, take comfort in the knowledge that we are all failing to meet our own expectations.
But good parents learn and grow from their failures.
Don't aim for perfect. Aim for growing.
Discipline focuses on punishment. Discipleship focuses on growth.
Discipline focuses on wrong steps. Discipleship focuses on next steps.
Discipline focuses on retribution. Discipleship focuses on restoration.
I want my kids to be disciples. I choose #discipleship.
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water...and in whatever he does, he prospers. #psalms#scriptures#dailybread
In my home, I've struggled to parent through #discipline and #punishment. It's resulted in yelling, fighting, battling, and bitterness.
But when I brought #Jesus into my #parenting, everything changed. That's when I started to see #relationships instead of conflicts.
What would happen if we incorporated #christ into our #parenting instead of just talking about Him? What if #discipleship was the centerpiece of our parenting strategy? How different would our homes look?

If we want to parent well, if we want to see our children grow into confident followers of Christ, we need to walk beside them. https://t.co/aQwD7SmjT9
Let these truths give you hope tonight, sweet friend….
God knows you.
God sees you.
God cares for you.
And nothing can ever separate you from His love. (Romans 8:38-39)
