Petrol prices hiked by Rs 3.14 / litre
Diesel prices hiked by Rs 3.01/ litre
This still leaves a lot of under recoveries for state owned oil marketing companies.
1. Either the government subsidises these losses>> fiscal deficit deteriorates
2. Or government cuts taxes on petrol/diesel>> lower tax revenues>> fiscal deficit deteriorates
3. Or PSU oil companies bear the losses, running at Rs 1000 crores per day on Petrol, Diesel and LPG
4. Or pass onto the consumer>> Higher logistics-transport-goods costs >> higher inflation>> Demand moderation>> GDP impact >> Consumption slows
No easy fixes.
India's average crude oil import is now costing $ 114 to $ 104 vs the average $ 70 in CY2025.
This $ 30 to $ 40 drag for 2 months has worsened Current Account deficit by around $ 7 bn already for CY2026 .
On a full year basis , CAD could rise by around $ 45 to $ 60 bn .
Fiscal Deficit/ Reduced Margins for impacted sectors/ Inflation/Trade Deficit/CAD all are flow throughs of this crude price spike.
Government of India is running three critical missions at present :
Green Hydrogen Mission
National Semiconductor mission
National Quantum mission
These can each have a transformational impact.
Study these three indepth and look for ways to gain investment returns from these.
If we have to stop the outflow of dollars there are many small things one can do.
- Students going for studies abroad because inspite of getting 90% plus they don’t get admissions in any good collages in India and they spend 50/60 lacs per annum overseas.
- Domestic Travel should be promoted by making it people friendly. Let’s take the example of Goa one of the most aspirational destination of an average Indian but no one wants to address the taxi mafia, high hotel and flight prices, super expensive eateries and people find it cheaper to travel to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam etc.
- FIIs selling - there is not even a discussion by relevant people as to what can be done to stop the flows or take some measures to restore their confidence.
In the absence of any concrete solutions there cannot be any credible result.
This may not be called a World War.
But when tension spreads through every nation, every screen, every mind…
what else do you call it except "WORLD IS AT WAR?
Was checking out this live map on Vessel Finder — but honestly, I have no idea how to read it 🤯
What do all these colors, arrows, and dots actually mean? Can someone explain it in a simple way, like how to identify ship types, directions, and what the colors represent?
