Nursing: a career in which a patient can slap you but you are still expected to comfort them right after when they start crying because they slapped you while you tried to get IV.
@lexilynneperry As silly as it sounds, the day before I was induced we went to the grocery store just the two of us and I cried after bc I knew it was the end of an era 😅 there’s definitely a “grieving” period for your old life after you have kids.
Rorie slept like absolute shit last night. The only good thing that came out of the night is when I brought her into bed with me at 3 and she rolled over and gave me a kiss. And she NEVER gives kisses🥹
I like to think it was her way of saying “sorry being an asshole tonight”
Rorie had her first swim lesson where she didn’t scream the entire time and I’m so freaking proud of her. She actually laughed and participated and stuck her head under water like everyone else 🥹🥹
I’m a gun owner. Do not tell me our Founders conceived of this carnage when they wrote the Constitution. Do not tell me they would have tolerated this madness. Do not tell me that teachers must be armed. And do not tell me your AR15 is worth more than another 14 children’s lives.
If you want to know why nurses are sick of their jobs and want more money, today I was yelled at by a 70 year old women for trying to put socks on her so she wouldn’t fall. SOCKS. I had to turn on the damn mom voice and tell her it’s disrespectful. Like wtf.
Just remembering how my HS soccer coach thought it would be productive at practice to have us walk across the field while balancing a ball on our head or would take away a whole side of our offense mid game and was then surprised we lost a lot games….like what even.
Today I was yelled at by a doctor for asking a patient was cleared for DC from his stand point bc everyone else already had and the patient wanted to leave. As if I don’t have enough BS to deal with.
Aarons going to be gone for Father’s Day for Coast Guard things this year so I’m going ALL out for his birthday and throwing a surprise party and I am pumped. (He’s twitterless so this is my safe space to talk about it)
how do I explain to my gen x parents that the news is something you sit down and watch for 30 minutes and not insidious background noise for the entire day
Asked in my cities resident fb group for recommendations to have the outside of my house sprayed for spiders and what not. And people somehow managed to have Facebook arguments over it?? Over me wanting to try and prevent any bugs from coming in my house??? How? Why?
