Today we welcomed Steffanie Fain as the new King County Councilmember for District 5, which includes the cities of Des Moines, Kent, Normandy Park, Renton, SeaTac, and Tukwila. She is a healthcare and employment attorney who served for 11 years on the Harborview Medical Center Board of Trustees, bringing deep experience in health care, equity, and community partnership. We’re excited to welcome Councilmember Fain to the Council and look forward to her leadership on behalf of South King County. Congratulations, CM Fain!

Commissioner Sims is a fierce negotiator with a heart of a public servant. I was honored to serve along side her. I share her disappointment over Monday night. It would, however, have been impossible to reach any agreement if not for the tremendous work of staff, especially Osta.

It was my honor to move the selection of Sarah Augustine, the Executive Director of the Yakima Dispute Resolution Center to serve as Redistricting Commission Chair. The career mediator came strongly recommended by individuals in both parties and was unanimously appointed. #waleg
@SeattleChamber hit a home run by selecting Rachel Smith as its new CEO. She’s been a trusted and influential player in local business and politics for decades. I’m excited to grow our partnership and am thrilled to be working on these important regional issues with Rachel.

@lisa4progress @PeteButtigieg Oh my goodness! Now THAT is some nice tile work. Love the style with the dark grout. CNN and Fox wouldn’t know bipartisanship if it hit them square in the face... But HGTV does!
