My thing is,how can anyone claim Chloe’s career isn’t going anywhere ? She is consistently performing, collaborating, and creating. More importantly, she is making a living doing what she loves. Isn’t that the ultimate goal for an artist? Y’all standard of success is flawed.
Monica’s recording of Misty Blue on her sophomore album was so refined, polished yet soulful. Mary closed out her live album with it and it’s utterly heartbreaking…so raw and gut wrenching. Both amazing renditions.
this and greenlight were what solidified her as the greatest performer of all time idc idc idc every person i’ve shown this performance to has been absolutely stunned at how incredible she is. i’m not arguing with y’all about best performers anymore bc she is the only one byyeeee
Justin Timberlake revealed that *NSYNC’s “Gone” was originally written for MICHAEL JACKSON, who initially REJECTED it before personally calling Justin to record it as a DUET 😳👀
Justin thought Michael’s call was a PRANK and CUSSED HIM OUT before hanging up, only to realize it was actually him. He ultimately turned down the duet out of LOYALTY to *NSYNC because Michael wanted the song to feature just the two of them.
“The vocal that you hear on ‘Gone’ is basically me demoing the song to pitch to him…He goes, ‘I’ve heard this song called Gone, and I understand that you wrote it for me…I think it should be a duet between the two of us.’…I felt an allegiance to what we were at that point and I respectfully said, ‘I hope we can do something down the road, but I can’t turn my back on what I’ve already committed to with the fellas’”
Learning that Toni Morrison was heavily into theatre during her college days isn’t even that surprising, her diction is exquisite. And when you think about the level of dedication theater actors have for their craft & apply that to her as a writer, it makes so much sense.
