Years ago I bought a house in the hood for 40k. I fixed up and rented it out. Saved the money and fixed it more. Then I sold it. Took that money made a down payment on a nicer house. Then I sold it for twice the amount. Then I bought a nicer one and added to it. Then sold it for more than enough to pay my kids college. Moral of the story is money is a tool. Learn to steward it. Not worship it, horde it, or waste it.
