Wait how did I miss this? We were brought in to solve this problem, and proposed an 18-24 month conversion window, but they elected to rewrite it in Java instead... so it only took 10 _years_?!

I'll be the first one to tell you that mainframe migration is hard, but looking at my notes, we pitched a schedule to fully migrate their databases by Q4 2014 to kill their CA Datacom license.

Sure would have been nice to have $4+ billion dollars in my pocket...
